Getting down to business this morning with the @IUPUI Arts&Humanities Artist Residency Program. For my exhibition, “Bridges Not Walls” I will be traveling back in time, yes, back to Brownsville, TX. my birthplace, to do research on the child detention centers where hundreds of refugee children are incarcerated. Part of my research will require interviewing immigrant families that have been directly affected, border patrol agents and some families members that have experienced Trumpism cruelty first hand with ICE Enforcement. I will be hosting a few artist workshops where open conversation is key to change, learning about the power of art and create your own #papelpicado upcoming details.
