a little tongue...
so its six years later and arty’s birthday is coming up. i decide to give the whole painting thing another try - even with the memory of the first one fresh in my mind. arty loves mia farrow. adores her. at the time, i had no real love for her. i feel differently today - at least about 1960s mia. but one of the ways i was able to combat my indifference with the subject was to use a photo by my personal god, david bailey, as my basis. i should have remembered the earlier incident, tho - because while he didn’t hide mia away as fast as possible, she has been living in his sister’s garage for years. and i love this painting, so that makes me very, very sad. and i think the reason he has shown no real love for this is because of the tongue. i have no evidence to back me up on that - but i have always worried that was the reason. and it’s one of the parts i love the most.
