Breastfeeding woes
Three weeks after giving birth and I'm still struggling with my milk supply despite the fact that I consumed and tried all milk-increasing stuff - oatmeal, milo, malunggay capsules, lactation cookies, brownies etc, power pumping, soups but still I feel that my baby isn't getting enough. I've been actively researching the net for tips and tricks but when she feeds she would throw a fit and cry as if in pain so I think she's not getting enough milk.
Her pedia said her tummy is only as big as her closed fist and I should just continue to breastfeed. So I did just that but I cant bear the crying when she seem to not get satisfied so I had to buy her formula milk. Good thing she will ONLY consumes 2oz then will not take anymore as she is looking for her mommy's boobies. Only then will she be able to sleep.
Still my research continued and I came across this blog which talked about her experience with lactation and post natal massage. (Www.thebinondomommy.com)
Zalor massage services offers lactation and post natal massage and can even do home service! I contacted Ate Lorena, the owner and gave her a brief description of my dilemma and I said I'd like to have the lactation massage which includes coaching on how to latch the baby properly and breast positioning, breast massage to increase milk supply and unclog clogged milk ducts. Post natal massage usba therapeutic whole body massage given to newly delivered moms up to 6mos even to 1yr to hel reduce stressed hormones, ease muscle fatigue and tired muscles due to pregnancy, pelvic bone alignment, normal blood circulation, restore energy, and rejuvinate a mom's whole being.
So I set up an appointment and she sent one of her members as she has a previous engagement she needs to attend to. Ate Jocelyn Morales showed up at our doorstep 2hrs early I think because she said she doesnt want to be late for her customer. We started with the lactation massage and I had my husband witness it so that he'll also understand given that he is my absorber everytime I'm stressed with my milk supply. I was taught how to properly hand express, NOT to pump while I'm on my ML as it has a different effect on me compared to when my baby was the one sucking, how to properly massage to improve milk supply and eat more foods that has soup and malunggay.
Then the post natal massage was done and to be honest this was the best massage I've ever had. You gotta experience it to believe it.
Ate Jo, like Ate Lorena was a member of Arugaan, a Day Care Center in Marikina City.
I strongly recommend new moms, even 2nd time moms like me to avail of their services.
