Is there a difference between the aroace flag that’s purple and green and the one that’s blue and yellow/orange? Is there a reason to use one over the other?

I didn’t even know there was an aroace flag out there. Personally, I would go with the purple and green one because that matches both ace flag and the aro flag.

I'm 14 and think I'm ace. Some of my friends who I've shared my thoughts with think I'm too young to say, but I don't know. I've never been interested in anyone that way (I'm a lesbian, but I think I'm homoromantic because I don't like girls in THAT way). I guess I'm just asking if it's too young to tell?

I don’t think you’re too young to know you’re ace at all. We all know our sexualities at different ages some find out earlier or later than others.

Come from an asexual I figure it out when I was 12 and to some people that may sound extremely young but my thoughts from then have never changed.

But even so if you identify as asexual now and decide one day that the label doesn’t fit you anymore then that’s also totally fine! It’s your identity and nobody else’s.

You’re as ace as you feel.

Ok, so I'm sending this as an ask, but I would really appreciate it if you could just copy and paste and not post my username... But it's up to you. Do you have any advice for a sex-repulsed asexual who is not out (and likely never will be bc of family/friends) who lives in such a sex-filled world? It makes me almost sick to my stomach when people even talk about it. But as I'm about to exit high school it becomes a popular topic amongst friends. Also there's TV and books. How do I stay away?

It’s never going to be easy for us. This world is very driven by sexual things, but you can start by asking your friends and family to change the subject. You can avoid sexual scenes in movies by leaving to use the restroom. Fortunately you are leaving high school, that means the toxic environment surrounding sex will be left behind. If you feel comfortable, I recommend coming out to your friends and explaining. Don’t be afraid to be unapologetically you!

How do I distinguish romantic and aesthetic attraction? I know I get both but I'm not always sure which one I'm feeling or if it's both.

It’s different for everybody but the way I distinguish it is I ask myself if I like the way they smile or do I want to make them smile until their cheeks hurt? Do I like the way their hair looks or do I want to run my fingers through it until they’re sleeping in my arm? Do I want to hold their hand and go on an ice skating date, or just show them off.

This might help or it might not, I don’t have you experiences or your personal attraction. This is just what I do. Ok. I need some advice. So, there is this girl. And I’m Aro. I think it’s a crush? But I don’t wanna like make out with her. I wanna hold her hand and cuddle her and get to know her. I think it actually might be a squish, but I really don’t know. And I don’t know how she would react. Also, she’s gay and I’m non-binary who’s still in the closet, so I’m not sure if she could even feel the same. God I’m a mess, but she soo nice, and sweet, and pretty. Sorry.

Don’t ever apologize for your feelings. That’s not a healthy mindset. You are allowed to have thoughts whether it be ‘good’ or ‘bad’. Also I believe that such thing as a zucchini, where you’re in a relationship but it’s not romantic or sexual. You can bring up the topic to ask her how she feels about it. If you feel comfortable you can ask her what specific label she uses. Then you can figure it out from there. Long story short, Ask!

There’s an actor I admire a lot, I think that they sing, dance and act very well. I also find them attractive. But I don’t have a crush on them, and this one girl keeps saying I do and bringing it up. I think I’m aro and it’s making me uncomfortable, but I don’t want to out myself to her if I’m not sure yet. Do you have any advice on how to make her stop?

Well that is a tricky situation there. You see, you’re dealing with a whole person with her own experiences so making her stop would be difficult. Try to make her understand that you like the actor aesthetically, or you find them funny, not that you have a crush. If you know you’re aroromantic, then don’t take other people’s words to heart. There’s only one person who knows you better than anyone else. You! Be true to yourself!
