Ever thought of having more kids? Maybe a daughter?
“Eh…” Prior to joining Chrom’s congregation of happy little sheep, he wouldn’t have considered even fathering a child. It was only after being with her, and only after meeting Morgan, he began to reconsider…
Slowly, and reluctantly at first; he was still an irredeemable soul, tainted by his terrible deeds. How many families had he destroyed? How many children had been killed in the wake of his power-hungry lust for war? What right did he have to leave anything behind in the world, to chance the happiness of a family the Gods should have denied him…
But then, there was Morgan. The boy compounded all his guilts and every tiny hope at redemption he might have ever disillusioned himself with in the past. And the kid… wasn’t half bad.
Whether Gangrel even had any influence on the boys upbringing was hard to tell - perhaps he’d died before the boy could have really even developed much in the way of significant memories of him. Either way, the boy was not inherently twisted, or warped in any way… He was just… a happy child.
While he still had his reservations, there was a growing want in him for it; a family. The more he looked at Morgan, the more he wondered what his father, the other Gangrel, might have thought.
Of course, the child could have been an accident with no real planning or want involved, but that could never be the case now for himself. He had to think about it now, he had to wonder, and by now he thought, what better could he hope to do in the world, in any vain or worthless attempt to atone, than give it such a gifted, bright-spirited child.
And he found, when he thought like that, the process often continued. Grew. He hadn’t the slightest idea how to be a father, and he hardly thought he’d make a particularly good one, but with her… It’d all work out for the best, he knew.
So when the self-loathing dissipated, and the heavy-clouded memories of his atrocities cleared, he found… he quite wanted children. A family, with her. An utterly amusing thing to him, really. Laughable, and so very unlike him, he knew. But he wanted it, and when had he ever been good at denying himself his desires?
“I suppose I have… A little sister would be good for Morgan, I think. And two more boys down the line, and then another girl.”
The fact is, he’s already planned out a rather large family.
((Heheh, for one of my playthroughs I made the avatar a ‘daughter’ character of his. Completely messes a lot of the story around but it was mostly for lulz/the post-game story in my head. she needs a new name though, any suggestions?))
