Auckland is home to one third of all New Zealanders. Over the next decade it will grow to be home to 40 per cent of New Zealanders. From '08 to '12 there was a dampening of migration. After 2012, numbers have spiked and it's migrants from India, China, and the Philippines. In Auckland, 40 per cent of residents were born overseas. One quarter of all Aucklanders are Asian.
