I’m half Korean and my boyfriend is Chinese, yet everyone tells us we’re twins, and that its the same thing. I hope today shows how very different we all are!
a tip for everyone involved in selfiweek who are receiving hate mail if u have anon turned on turn it off most these cowards are too scared to verbally abuse if they don't have a shield in front of them
So I see there's some people who participated in Asian, Latino, and Eastern selfie day that are complaining about the fact that they didn't receive nearly the amount of notes and recognition that people who participated in Black Out received. If you only care about the amount of notes you received on your pics, you're stupid. 1 reason why the other selfie days weren't as big as Black Out is because y'all decided join in the day after, which kinda diminished the excitement and altered the original purpose of our movement. But this isn't a competition. The purpose of Black Out Day wasn't to start a competition. Y'all claim you didn't copy off of Black Out but y'all sure like to compare. This is 1 reason why I don't support the idea of Selfie Week...
asianselfieday or whatever is lame as fuck. chinks don't know what racism is. gtfo
"Chinks" is a racial slur for Asians… .Also if you don’t think Asians face racism you need to open a history book or turn on the Tv to any sitcom or movie.
I don't get the "either or" mentality of this website. Nothing is black and white. Not all women are gorgeous princesses. Not all men are misogynistic fedora-wearing basement dwellers. Just because black girls are beautiful and don't get told that enough doesn't mean that all the other girls don't get to be told they're beautiful, too. It doesn't mean that men aren't beautiful, also. It is important to tell people that they're real and that they are acknowledged, but it shouldn't negate everyone else's opinions or validity. It isn't "know your place and pick your battles." It isn't "fight back at all opportunities for your recognition." It isn't either or. It's okay to be divided on everything. You should be divided a bit on any opinion you have! It's not healthy to ignore the counterarguments just to fit a mold of social justice. You should always be sort of split on stuff. It means you really understand things. Tumblr social justice is so alienating because it shames people for questioning and disagreeing. It also shames people who are "in between." It's almost never either or. The world is a greyspace.
Hi! I'm tracking the tag for #asianselfie day (among all the other tags for selfie week) and I would just like to apologize for joining, because I didn't know the Asian Face Appreciation Day existed. I have only seen the post about selfie week. I was honestly not trying to help stifle #blackout.
I have not received any anon hate over posting my face, and I hope I don't after this, but I do feel about it--I wasn't thinking, I saw there was a day dedicated to posting selfies of my origin, and I posted.
Once again, I apologize. Sorry!!
