Lapis Lazuli: What is something about your life that you’ve been lying about?
“Who I am I suppose. I am of course, Prince Robin Arryn, the rightful heir to the Vale, but, I suppose I do not know how to explain it. Ever since I was young, I have known something about me was different. That, I find, and have found myself attracted to men, sometimes more so than women. As a Prince however, it is my duty to marry a woman, to provide my family with children, and I know in the eyes of the seven it is wrong for man to fornicate with man, still sometimes I, I cannot help with admiring the beauty of other men.
It all started when I was younger, I- there was a guard I greatly admired, he was tall, handsome, blonde. I followed him around as often as I could. My father thought he would be able to help me learn with the sword, so he was appointed my sworn shield, and instructed to help me learn the blade. That didn’t help, I became infatuated. I ended things before they ever began, I asked my father to dismiss him from the Vale, I- I told my father I thought he would make a better commander for the city watch of Gulltown. It needed to be nipped in the bud, before it could grow into anything else. I did what neeeded to be done.
But the biggest thing I have lied about, and am lying about my life to everyone, to myself is who I love, who I want to love, because I know morally it is not right, and it would betray my greatest duty as a Prince, and as an Arryn.”
