Yes! Shanks x Brothel Manager! Reader is still in the works! It's going to be one of my longest fics to date. I'm also very excited for it! Hearing that others are also eager helps keep me motivated so I can't tell you how much I appreciate your ask!

Currently I have 7/20 chapters written (totaling about 47,000 words as of now and there are still some scenes to existing chapters I need to go back and add) but with my schedule slowing down and having more time on the weekends I'm hoping to get more writing done. Rest assured that it's being worked on every day and I try to do at least one page in the google doc or an hour a day, but I'm also balancing it with my weekly post/writing.

I can't promise when chapters are going to start coming out but I'm hoping sometime around the end of September (this is also entirely dependent on if I can find a Beta reader in a timely manner and their comments).

I prefer to complete all the general rough chapters for my longer fics before I start posting them and this is for a few reasons:

It allows me to make changes to plots without having to worry about working it into already existing chapters, giving me more room to change things as I see fit no matter how far in the story I am.

It keeps me from being motivated on a project, running out of steam, and never finishing it which leaves anyone reading and waiting for the next chapter disappointed.

It allows me to post on a more regular schedule, which makes me feel better and keeps me writing. Editing takes me a lot less time (only a day or two per chapter), and while I'm posting those it also gives me time to work through my list of other fic ideas to then be able to stockpile those while I'm working on other longer fics.

Sneak Peak Starts Here

“Were you unable to find any of the places I recommended on your last visit?”

“No, I just find myself preferring your touch.”

Looking closer, you can see the faint traces of shadows under his eyes. Despite his normal cheery demeanor his shoulders seemed to hang a bit more heavily, an unseen force dragging him down.

“If that’s what you request.” You answer, not allowing yourself to give him the satisfaction of knowing he had surprised you. It could be he just didn’t feel like paying, but if that were the case he could go and stiff them the money just as easily as he could you.

You lead him down the hall once more, leaving him to bathe and setting up your supplies as before. You’re only grateful that he doesn’t protest, the scent of rum on him stronger than before, and without the protection of incense outside you may have truly been unable to hide your distaste.

The lanterns in the garden are already lit giving a warm glow to the area, lighting the decently sized space and the flora that grows within. It’s mostly for the girls themselves to take a break away from customers but the place is devoid of any others. All occupied with the start of busy hours. Even if they had been there you would have shooed them out.

Once again you’re left with time to ruminate on the presence of the redhaired man. To question what he was doing here. Maybe he was like Beckman and got enjoyment out of annoying you. You wondered if he really needed the massages when there were others more qualified. And what had he done before with his aches and pains? It seemed he was only insistent on taking up as much of your time as possible, and you could only hope the length between his visits remained as long as possible. 

All too soon the door cracks open and you’re once again treated to the sight of Shanks in a towel, looking refreshed with a tinge of color to his face from the warm water. The cooling air allows you to see heat rising from his skin in waves of steam but it doesn’t seem to bother him. In fact he seems almost giddy, crossing the courtyard and hopping up onto the cushioned table like he’s done it a hundred times, having no trouble making himself at home.

“The same as last time? Or are there any places you want me to focus on?”

Rubbing the rose oil between your hands to warm it, a prickle of humor tickles your stomach as at the thought of the weathered man smelling of something so floral and delicate as you place your palms on his lower back, feeling the muscle give under the heel of your palm.

Shanks groans and gives a small jolt. No doubt he could feel it all the way up his spine to his shoulder where he thought the pain was coming from. Sore muscles had a way of doing that, tricking the body into thinking it was coming from one place when really it was from another.

that's a whole process but I can look into it!! I just never used vrchat and have no idea where to upload the models lol
