COUPE/JANELLE
A dangerous child is certainly something that would peak her interest
She's the kind of woman that listens, rather than speaks
So she knows everything about you before she meets you
Given her own... investment, in blood, she actually seeks you out
"(Name), is it? I've heard a lot about you"
She wants to know everything she can about your powers - how does the blood manipulation work? Can you control people? Cause aneurysms?
If she weren't now a hero, you would have been the perfect little apprentice assasin
But given you were both at SDN...
She'll simply have to have you as a hero apprentice instead
Coupe was entirely unafraid of you, encouraging you to explore your powers rather than hide them
You train together in her off time - usually in the gym
It is important that you don't rely soley on your powers
After what feels like hours of sparring, she speaks up
"Next mission I'm placed on, come with me. You're ready."
It's simple, and blunt - but enough to make your heart soar
"Really? Oh my god, thanks mum, I won't let you down,"
"Last I checked, I'm not your mother,"
The sharp quip makes your cheeks flare in embarrassment
But Coupe's usual indifferent expression is cracked with a small, but fond smile
GOLEM/BRUNO
When the rest of the team starts gossiping about the teen living at SDN, he's all in all pretty excited
Most of the time, people forget he's the baby of the team
Sure, he may look like a big fuck-off clay monster
But mans is only 20
It gets pretty tiring hanging out with co-workers way older than him all the time
But when he runs into you - it's literal
Unintentionally shoulder barging you into the wall as he passes through the corridor
"Do you mind?"
"Uh, not really, no."
In a spurt of rage - you try to control him, manipulate his body into walking right into the wall
But you can't
There's... nothing there
"Why don't you have any blood?"
"Oh shit, you're the bloodbending bitch - my bad g,"
You can only squint at his half-assed apology
The two of you tend to gravitate to one another in free time - slowly building a bond
Albeit, it's based mostly off of giving eachother shit
"Loser" "Dumbass"
You're frequently seen sending videos to one another despite sitting basically ontop of one another
One day, Robert plainly asks if you two are a thing
Both of you gag instantly
"You think I'm some kinda cradle snatcher, Bobert?"
"Nasty, his dusty ass is essentially my brother-"
Golem snorts in amusement, but doesn't deny it
It is the truth, after all
WATERBOY/HERM
Last trigger warning (sh) for this part!!
You meet before he joins the Z-team, in his early days as a janitor for SDN
Because of the nature of your powers - whenever you wanted to practice blood manipulation, you had to use your own blood
Which, as you can imagine, can get quite messy
Herm was concerned about the faint blood spots he cleaned around the building
But he assumed it was just left from injured heroes
So one day, when he found you - a deep gash in your thigh as you manipulate your blood like a puppet on strings
He freaks
"Oh- ohoho no. You, you should not - please don't hurt you're... you."
His words are stumbling, but his eyes are wide with genuine concern
When you explain that it's just how you train yourself, he's not too happy with the answer
"I- no?"
He disappears, coming back a few minutes later with varied first aid supplies
With fumbled words and messy dressings, Waterboy tends to your wound
When you complain about how you can otherwise practice your powers, he only has more questions
"Do you need to see- touch? The blood? It works?"
When you explain that no, you don't, he's quick to offer his help
So whenever there's nothing left to clean, and you're around - you practice
Simple, harmless things
Marionetting his body to march down halls, do jumping jacks, etc.
It's only a matter of time before you both get called into Blazer's office
With a stern word, she demands to know what's going on - but Waterboy is quick to come to your defense
"Ok! It's ok! They are- I always wanted siblings! To help!"
With a sigh, Blazer lets it go
The minute you're out of the meeting, he's apologising profusely for assuming your relationship
But all you do is pull him into a tight hug - not caring how your clothes soak through
PHENOMAMAN/KATON-UR
He is... perplexed that there is a child around
Is this normal for Earth?
Last he heard, child soldiers were frowned upon
It was actually you who approached him first - in the days following the breakup with Blazer
He was laying in the carpark, contemplating death when you walked up
"Um, you good there buddy?"
"Ah. The child. I am... not so good. Tell me, how does one cope with the loss of love?"
Despite your age, you impart what little wisdom you have upon the alien
"You... understand."
His realisation is slow dawning - his raising stance, not so much
From that day forward, he follows you around
Not in a creepy way
Moreso like a very oversized, very sad dog
He always shares his melon baskets with you
The first time he requests to 'make love' with you - you freak out, before sitting him down for a chat
Now he can simply ask for a hug
One time, after a particularly bad mission gone wrong, Phenomaman can't find you
"Robert, have you seen the child"
Eventually he finds you, folding over you like a heavy, depressed humaoid blanket
"You ok, dad?"
The name just slips out, but he was the most constant older male figure in your life
"I do not believe I am your father, child. It would be... nice, if I was."
BLONDE BLAZER/MANDY
It was Mandy that found you
A corrupt family business - human trafficking with enough manpower that Blonde Blazer was needed
What she didn't expect from the mission, was a trembling teen standing in front of her, covered in bruises and cuts - ready to fight for their life
Her heart breaks
Getting you out of there feels like the equivalent of bribing a stray cat to enter a cage
Even though she was doing the right thing, she felt oddly cruel
As soon as your guardians were arrested, she applied for temporary guardianship
With her reputation, it was quickly granted
When you refused to live with her, she was the one who renovated a corner of the expansive SDN infirmary to be your own space
She constantly bought little trinkets to try and make the space more lively
It felt like she was constantly lecturing you - saying you could be better than the people that raised you
It was one of her overnight shifts when her advanced hearing picks up on a scream from the other side of the building
Knowing it was you, she flew through the building
Immediately she was at your side as you cry and writhe in your sleep
When you wake from your night terror, she's still there waiting
She doesn't ask questions - just bundling you into her arms
Through broken sobs you share broken pieces of your past - the famous hero only holding you tighter
"Why couldn't- why couldn't they be like you? Why didn't they care?"
"I don't know, sweetheart. I'm so sorry."
The next morning, you find Mandy at your door - ready to help you pack boxes to move into her apartment.
