I think like a lot of artists, I started drawing when I was really young. Like- too young to really remember my first drawings. As far as I remember, I've always drawn, or doodled, but if I really wanted to I could always ask my mom if she remembered.
I know that I started to take art more seriously in middle school though. 12-13 was a crazy time for me discovering that being an artist could be a career, and ultimately that's still my end goal, but it's been a pretty steady part of my life since then for sure. I remember especially when I got my first SketchBook and I was drawing in it, throwing paint at it, and honestly just misusing the poor thing. I still have it to this day!
I flip through it and laugh at my old art sometimes. Fondly, of course, cuz if it wasn't for those drawings, I wouldn't have been able to progress to where I am today.
