Also I'm not personally into omegaverse but thinking about the characters' scent makes my heart go 💞💞... may I get Natsume and/or HiMERU hcs for the scent this time? or just Natsume if you only take one per ask. him wearing perfume and having different fragrances has been living rent free in my head since I read in on the wiki and I can imagine the scent of potions sticking to his clothes after experimenting... I wanna cuddle in his lab coat just to sniff it, I think he'd find it endearing and get smug if his s/o asked to borrow his perfume whenever they miss him <33 - kaoru pegger
ok super interesting choices you've made on what characters to ask me about but before i get into explaining theirs i shall say I'm always happy to see me regulars around <3 never be afraid to sign off
now, I'll put the blurb for both characters before the cut but i'll put my elaborations underneath it
Natsume:
Main scent of rosemary and sage. Under notes of salt and acetic. While it’s nice from afar, up close it’s harsh and sour, almost smelling like chemicals. He often gets comments from people that it smells like vinegar and he’s very sensitive about it, not liking it when people get up close to smell him. While he doesn’t like to scent others, he’s not bothered by being scented (though he dislikes it when it feels like someone is coddling him or being possessive of him). His and Eichi’s scents are kinda similar and he hates it.
HiMERU:
Crow says main scent of begonia and osmanthus. Under notes of daphne and bergamot. Whenever his scent is not being heavily suppressed, it’s a very distinguishable floral, bitter-citrus scent. While it sounds quite lovely and would make an elegant perfume in theory, as a scent belonging to an alpha, it’s not what most consider the most attractive. Other alphas dismiss it for the heavy florals while omegas end up dazed by the intense bitterness that comes with exposure. Even when he wasn’t under the HiMERU persona, he avoided flaunting his scent to avoid having to deal with others' impressions of it. Does not scent, does not let himself be scented, but pretends to not notice due to posing as a beta.
Now, let's start with Natsume's... his scent sure is a doosey. So hear me out, when Rei and I were talking about character scents, Natsume was the first one to come up in conversation and we discussed him smelling herbal or chemically (with his potions being in mind) and eventually those combined into vinegar okay. Rosemary is a very yummy savory herb with a bit of cold spice to it. Sage is an herb with a similar savory effect, but a more dirty/dusty/dark hint to it. His main scent is very green-herbal but tasty, spicy, and a tiny bit of tang to it. While unique, it's not bad! it's when his under notes come into play is where his scent becomes a bit of a sensitive topic. Salt is straightforward, acetic acid is not. Acetic acid, for a lack of any terms to decorate it with, smells of vinegar. It's sour and acrid; it makes your nose burn and scrunch up before you can even place the scent. Between it and the straight up salty scent it comes with, it makes smelling Natsume up close to be quite the assault on the senses. It's one I can imagine people getting quite accustomed to and becoming a bit blind to it thankfully.
HiMERU's scent is one I'd say is probably one of the most perfume-sounding ones. When I was deciding what kind of scents to give everyone, I plotted everyone on a tierlist (as i've been quite prone to doing recently) and after noticing a conspicuous gap amongst the florals, I added HiMERU in there to even out the numbers. And then he stayed there lol. Now, Oremeru is an alpha, HiMERU is officially a beta, and Kaname is an omega. You see the problem here? Oremeru has spent a big chunk of his adult life on suppressants for the sake of work, but the time he's spent living as HiMERU is the longest stretch he's been taking them for in his life. Begonia and Osmanthus make up his main notes. Begonia is a flower with a generic but mild floral scent and a bit of a citric hint to it. Osmanthus is a more sweet floral scent with depth added by hints of bitter tea and warm leather. While these two scents together are very floral and a bit candied, you can't deny the way it's intricacies nip a bit more aggressively at your nose. The under notes continue the main scent's path into a darker, more bitter path. Daphne is yet another type of flower but instead of a light or mild floral scent like the previous two, it's florals have a spicy taste to it. There's a certain level of muskiness to it that lines up with the bitterness hidden amongst osmanthus and connects it to the smell of bergamot. A citric value to it also connects it to Begonia. Bergamot is the last amongst the stack but I feel like it's scent is likely present through his whole scent-profile. Bergamot is a type of citrus that is both bitter and formal and often associated with tea. It blends in pretty nicely and drags in some needed dryness to the overall floral smell of HiMERU.

ok both of these would make it difficult in different ways. Mayoi would be all "noooo i don't deserve itttt im filthy and grossss...." that you kinda just have to power through while natsume would be all tsundere about it and enjoy it but not want to be coddled like a baby where you lowkey have to assert your dominance to get him to respect you and let you dote
I don’t think I could ever accurately describe how important Natsume is to me. Like, I’m transmasc and pretty spiritual, even if I don’t practice as much as I’d like to. So when I started playing Enstars when it came to eng servers and I saw Natsume and read through his stuff, it was an instant connection. He’s so transmasc coded and his whole spell casting and fortune telling stuff really makes me love him. Not to mention his personality and how pretty he is. 🤭 But like, I love him so much.

i’m starting HRT soon (T injections yippee) and i have a strong fear of needles, and my doctor plans on showing me how to inject them for the first little while before i do it at home on my own. it’s gone suck.
the only thing i can think of that makes me feel even the slightest bit better is sitting between natsume’s legs while he does it for me. he’d rest his cheek on my head while he’d do it. idk. that’s all. i needed to share this thought with the world.

Anyways, yes! Natsume definitely strikes as the type to be willing to do it for him. Ngl, he'd probably feel a bit honored (and excited) that you're willing to trust him with it. Letting him do it would be just such an intimate experience for both parties :)
