It was the night after Elena's first feed. Which was good, because after all they went through to keep her alive and well (for the most part), it would suck if she decided to play martyr again and keel over. Now all they had to do was make sure she didn't just casually walk out in the sun or trip and fall on a stake - not that Damon didn't think she was an accident waiting to happen.
Oh come on, who was he kidding? That was exactly what he thought.
She was a new vampire. All freaky and unpredictable. Sure you can teach her the 'vampire lifestyle' but that would do nothing for her when she goes psycho with hunger, or her own emotions, or she could turn her emotions off and still go psycho. It was just the way this sort of thing worked, there was no denying it. But in a way, they did this to her. They were the ones who fed her blood and compelled her to forget when she was sent to the hospital. This was of course after Klaus kidnapped her and tried to drain her blood. She didn't want it, it was against her will, but it kept her alive. How were they supposed to know that Rebekah would kill her shortly thereafter?
Damon was grabbing a drink when he saw his twin walk in. Chances are, there was a lecture waiting to happen. Damian had this whole humanity complex going on and subsequently he was much nicer than Damon. Its a natural fact that they didn't see eye to eye some times - which made the fact that they were both in love with the same girl that much more annoying.
"Greetings," Damon said, glancing over at his identical brother as he finished pouring his drink. "I'm surprised you're here and not smothering Elena with Vampire Tips of the Trade."
