YES ANON
This would be the extended part of Toto saying that they've been fighting for 12 years, that he feels a bit lonelier...😭
I think burning of his photo was in good fun, the tweet was if I remember "sacrificing to racing gods" also it's pretty valid if fans are angry at him (death threats aren't) but still merc is degrading day in day out, team's not listening to the driver's and the tyre mixup on Saturday, I think toto said it's everyone's fault or smthg when it clearly isn't. George asked for mediums thrice. It's very frustrating as a George and merc fan to see this, he is disrespected every weekend in the team. That if you pair with his constant flirting with max obviously angers a lot of us.
On Sunday, george gave his everything, clearly the pace wasn't there, yet Toto said, It was everyone's fault. When George had a flawless weekend.
Also, the contract negotiations is bound to get him hate from Russell fans.
I support him too, I really really like toto, but it gets tiring.
I generally don’t get into debates or anything like that, but I want to share my perspective since you sent this message.
Even though the video was presented as a joke, the gesture is unsettling in a context of so much frustration with the team. It’s not an isolated case: there was another video going around of someone burning a photo of Toto. A few months ago, another fan showed a picture of Toto in a jar with some spices or something, shaking it in anger, and the team even commented on that post, going along with the joke and saying, “That’s wild.” These acts, even if they’re “symbolic” or meant as a “joke,” can fuel tensions during a season where criticism toward Toto, sometimes valid, is already running high.
I understand that the tire confusion in Q3 was frustrating. George expected mediums, but the team understood something else when talking about “the plan.” Toto called it a collective communication failure, and while it hurts as a fan, I don’t think it reflects them ignoring George, rather, a mistake made in the heat of the moment (even George admitted it was a communication error).
As for Toto’s statement about blaming the whole team, I don’t see it as an attack on George. F1 is a team sport, and that reflects Toto’s leadership style: he pointed out that “there’s not a single reason we can blame,” emphasizing that the team’s issues were the result of failures across multiple areas: engineering, strategy, communication, and execution on track. He also mentioned specific errors: George wore out his tires trying to follow Leclerc, and Kimi had a tough weekend with off-track moments, a black-and-white flag, and a penalty for an incident with Albon. These critiques don’t mean he doesn’t support the drivers, on the contrary, Toto trusts their potential, but is pushing for collective improvement and acknowledges that Mercedes seems to be struggling with degradation.
Regarding Toto’s comments about Max... I have to say, he’s put himself in a difficult position by not handling how he talks about him very well. That’s led to the perception of an “obsession” that frustrates fans (for example, the comment he made after Monza), and it’s his responsibility for not being clearer about George and Kimi’s future. This, combined with all the contract rumors, has made the frustration explode and turned it into what feels like an endless snowball.
Anyway, look... Toto’s style is about teamwork, as it should be in F1. When he points out errors, whether from George or Kimi, it’s not to belittle them, but to encourage everyone, including himself, to step up. I’ve been frustrated too, like with the Silverstone strategy or some of the mistakes this season, but I don’t think any of that shows disrespect toward George. Saying that feels too harsh to me, because in this sport everything is a domino effect: one mistake affects everyone. Focusing only on George or Kimi is a very individualistic view, and Toto is trying to help Mercedes grow as a team because he knows the whole team needs to improve.
When I see people getting really upset over a comment from Toto, I take a step back to try to understand what he meant. Sometimes he does mess up, but in Monza he was calling out the team, including himself. Like I said, the tension between fans and the team creates a bias of frustration toward Toto, where everything he says is seen in a negative light, even when it’s constructive criticism. But that’s also on him, because his statements cause misunderstandings, and the contract saga and his comments about Max haven’t helped at all. I think Toto urgently needs PR training.
Hi do you know which interview is this?
Hello! It's video blog of Mille Miglia 2017
https://www.tumblr.com/silveryhill/790240845532184576/brocedes-feat-prosenna-im-insane-now?source=share
This one. Yin needs a yang. Insane way to put it. Also sorry for ranting in ur asks btw
Its okay!
If we're being poetic, those two have coexisted in each other's lives for over ten years, a long time to get to know each other, reading between the lines. It's ironic because they like each other enough to be friends, but they've never tried to be friends. They admire each other but have attacked each other at the same time. I think their relationship could have been a friendship until 2021 arrived, the fate didn't want that, and not to mention last year, when Christian ended up fucked.
Btw, Christian never paid attention to Zak. In fact, I don't think he cared unless Toto was talking. So Zak didn't replace Toto 😭
'but sometimes he doesn't make himself understood as he would like;'
honestly i get this on a perspective of his language not being english first like as someone who often times stumbles on explaining things in english as it isn't my first word it doesnt get through people the way i'd hoped it would be or it be
Exactly, but people forget that Toto's first language is German, even with translations of some of his interviews in German people have misinterpreted many things.
I wouldn't be surprised if those same people would hate on Susie too for so many reasons lol the thing is netflix and media likes to say or release quotes from an out of context quotes without the full ones so like in Toto's case when his quote is out of context or not they'll hate him for various reasons ( which is fair since like the man ain't perfect but hey he's trying )
Toto is very Austrian and very direct 😂 yes he has professional answers but sometimes he doesn't make himself understood as he would like haha anyway he doesn't care, not until they get too far like when they sent the email to the team
hi lady, you don’t need to reply — i just want to say i almost completely agree with you. the only thing i see differently is that toto has always been like this. maybe it’s the whole “tough love” thing he believes in so strongly, which isn’t something most people see in a good light. but he started in a different era, when social media wasn’t what it is now and it was easier to ignore, especially with the team always winning. for me, the real magic with him is that he speaks his mind instead of delivering some polished line even he doesn’t believe. but it’s also important to remember he’s a businessman first, not a tp, and i think he still needs to figure out how to balance those two roles more fairly. and, between you and me, it’s easy to see he hasn’t been quite the same since 2021 — people can say whatever they want about the abu dhabi party and all, but this man has changed. not because he became someone else, but because some of his better sides feel more repressed, and now the most visible part is that grumpy side, if i can call it that. sometimes it feels like they drained the life out of him and left… this for those of us who follow the “public figure” side of him.
anyways, just thinking too much about it. sorry for the long text!
xx
Oh don't worry, I think it's good to share points of view!
I know Toto follows a "tough love" philosophy based on strict discipline, total commitment to the team, and uncompromising competition. He tries to be understanding but demands the best, and he’s impartial with the drivers. He really ignores social media; in fact, he’s said that Bradley gives him feedback on what people think or what the press says. Toto’s aware of this and, I’d say, is one of the few team principals who’s evolved in how he speaks to the media, becoming more professional. Still, I think he needs another round of PR training because his statements keep causing misunderstandings. I believe Toto has learned to balance his business side with his role as team principal; otherwise, Mercedes wouldn’t have had such good revenue despite the tough seasons. As you mentioned, he’s changed since 2021, but I don’t see it as a grumpy side—that’s always been there, haha. It’s more a pragmatic approach due to the tough regulations. He said himself in 2022 that he knew fixing things would take time and wouldn’t be easy. That’s why we don’t see the emotional Toto anymore, but a more practical one.
Watched a video of nico comparing brocedes to prosenna. But then found a longer video and turns out they were comparing hornywolff (+ z brown ugh ) to all that???? ? ?? What is in the spa air, why'd they even bring that up😭😭😭
Well Anon, it was actually at Spa 2023 where we had that wonderful moment of Christian touching Toto's butt on international TV 😂 so things have happened☝️
(Although Zack is like a bad third here)
