hi!! we don't know each other!! stop getting it into your head that there is such a thing as a failure!! it's natural to fail at some things. failure contributes to our self-image in that it reveals exactly what we excel and what we struggle with, but failure should't be used to define yourself as a whole. surely, you must be worth more than the failure that you thought you were at some distant, discrete moment in time!!! you're cooler than that!!!
hi!!! thanks the for the kind words!!! <3 <3 <3
my brain knows all that but sometimes it just gets the better of me orz am doin my best ; w ;
For the angst prompt, "I wish I could take the pain away."
“Go! Go!”
Fires raged and buildings fractured and shrieks filled the air as Emet-Selch demolished slavering beasts with a crushing swipe from one enormous arm and pushing terrified Amaurotines out of danger with the other. They scrambled to their feet, gasping their thanks as they turned tail and ran. Emet-Selch destroyed another swath of beasts as he watched them run off—he trusted they were heading for the rendezvous point designated by the Convocation just hours before beasts began pouring into the city.
He couldn’t spend much more time in the city—he and the Convocation needed to enact their plan before the entire city was devoured by these creatures, but he couldn’t leave to begin the ritual just yet—not when there was still a chance to find them—
Aetheric power spun wildly around his massive form as he charged down a boulevard crawling with frenzied beasts, their bodies split in twain by the razor-sharp aether before they could open their monstrous mouths and lunge for him. He was almost there—he was almost there—
His heart stopped.
It was a pile of rubble—a pile of smoldering rubble surrounded by a horde of beasts—
A pile of smoldering rubble and he could see the weak glint of a soul—
With a strangled cry, he leapt forward and immediately the beasts exploded in a shower horror and terror and fear and with the beasts gone he desperately scooped the rubble away. The burgeoning terror in his gut grew with each armful of debris he threw aside—his arms soon broke through to a space underneath, cried out in triumph and redoubled his efforts. Soon he caught a glimpse of white in the shadows—heard ragged breathing—and with another cry he hurled what remained of the debris away and pulled his aether in so he could fit in the space—
“Hythlodaeus! Hythlodaeus!” he gasped, leaping forward and dropping to his knees beside the prone form of his friend.
Hythlodaeus’s head stirred but he didn’t seem able to move further—Emet-Selch felt his heart crumbling at the sight of Hythlodaeus’s soul bleeding from the grievous aetherial wounds left by the monsters consuming their city—He pulled Hythlodaeus into his arms and clung tightly to him, as though this could stem the leaking of his oldest friend’s soul—
“Hades—I couldn’t find anything—”
Emet-Selch pulled Hythlodaeus’s head into the crook of his neck as tears pooled in his eyes. The only reason Hythlodaeus had been down here instead of safely at the rendezvous point was to try and find a solution whilst the Convocation prepared for the worst—the only reason Hythlodaeus had been down here was to try to succeed where Emet-Selch had failed—
“It—it hurts worse than I expected,” Hythlodaeus rasped into his ear. He let out a weak laugh. “Tell Athena—she’s a liar.”
Emet-Selch let out a sob at the inevitable now before him.
His friend’s soul was bleeding uncontrollably.
His friend’s soul was bleeding uncontrollably and his last moments in their once-beautiful world were full of terror and destruction and pain—
“I wish I could take the pain away,” Hades whispered as the tears rolled down his cheeks.
“It’s not often—that you make wishes,” Hythlodaeus breathed. Emet-Selch felt him press his face further into his neck with a thin smile against his skin. “Save them...save them…”
Emet-Selch couldn’t take the pain away, but with tears in his eyes and the motionless body of his dearest friend in his arms
and a whispered goodbye into his friend’s hair
and their city falling to pieces around them
he gently eased what remained of Hythlodaeus’s soul into the Underworld.
you doing alright there?
Just wanted you to know that when I read the "Glowy Hole Club" comics with Haurchefant and Emet-Selch, I accidentally read Haurchefant calling it the "Glory Hole Club (name needs work)", and I had just read about Haurchefant's Japanese personality and though "...Yeah, he just might have called it that." I just thought that was funny. XD
omg u rite hahahahah
I’m not sure if questions about the Wheatley blog are allowed here, but Parts 2 through Ending Part 3 have been removed, anyway to see them again? I used to follow it a lot back when I knew nothing about Portal other than Wheatley, so I’m going on a nostalgia trip.
Removed? Like tumblr porn filter removed?
I’ll take a look and see what’s goin on
not gonna lie, i associate you with being like, the one blog i got a tumblr for so that i could follow you for your portal stuff, so i read "i wrote a fic about the rat man" and my immediate thought was "ooh doug rattman, portal paint boy" so i guess thats a lesson in reading tags on a post

Can you please do a panel of Lahabra getting suplexed? 😂
Hahahahah I can’t today (got eyes dilated for eye exam and they’re still recovering), but hopefully I’ll have Lahabrea shenanigans soon!
