Hello to the ALON Anon,
I’ve never answered an ask before and this hell site just ate my first attempt and took your ask with it — so bear with me as I awkwardly respond this way and maybe you’ll see it.
First of all, cheers! It’s always nice to hear people’s responses to my ramblings.
Here is the ALON post for reference if anyone is interested (beware spoilers for episodes 1-12) and also for my own future reference — if I don’t keep things organised now I’m going to lose things later.
Honestly, the post aged well, I just finished A League of Nobleman and I still feel the same way about the characters. Anon, you said you’ve yet to watch it, it’s a great drama with wonderful actors and great relationships, I highly recommend it.
As to the point you said about, despite not knowing the drama, completely seeing the feelings within the clip I include, just like I wrote about in my analysis. You’re very sweet, the actors are brilliant so the post really wrote itself! I always focus on faces and body language the first watch, sometimes it works and other times I’m discussing a quick in-class scene study and wondering how my classmate managed to note the mis-en-scene, catch the colour coding and count the cuts. This is why I love this community on tumblr, we all notice different things and create a much deeper reading of the media. Subtext my beloved.
Thanks Anon for giving me an excuse to ramble more, it’s no bother at all to send me friendly asks or comments on my posts :) I like hearing your thoughts. That goes for everyone else too. — Though next time I’ll try and hold onto the ask so I’m not relying on memory to guide me!
