*frowns down at her book.* ...I shouldn't.  What they've done is... Well, it's horrible.  To Harry and to Avery...

*sighs.* I think...eventually I'll be able to.  But it will take a while.  I'm desperately trying to understand what's driven them to do this.  These... These aren't the people I've grown up with.  That's all I can keep thinking.  I need to make sense of it somehow, but it all feels wrong.

*Offers her a sad smile and a scoff, cheeks going the slightest bit pink.*

Ginny probably told you already. I haven't spoken to any of them since she blurted it out. I don't think I could stand to look at them right now. -pauses looking over at her- I think I just ruined my own best friend proposal. I'm sorry.

*Frown deepens.*

Oh.  Yes, she's told me.  I don't...know what to say to them.  Ginny tried explaining, but I just... I understand to an extent, but I never... *Turns to look straight ahead of her and sighs.* I can't figure out what to say to them.  To either of them.  I don't know what to think.

...You didn't ruin anything.  I mean...I won't be a replacement, of course.  But I suppose we're in the same proverbial boat.

You know. Bubble baths. Pie. Inappropriate jokes. New best friend. -brings her legs up to rest her head on her knees-

*Frowns at the redhead, seeing that, clearly, there was something bothering her.  Closes her book, leaving her index finger between the pages to keep her spot.*

I wouldn't say no to that.  Well, the inappropriate jokes... Perhaps that, but... But why do you need a new best friend? What's happened, Veleena?
