The Slaughtering || Round 4: I - Chaos Wolf vs. Scarlet Witch
Esme had never truly intended to make it this far. She didn’t much care for winning the competition, it was simply a tool, a means to take out her frustration and grief, all the anger and rage that had been locked up inside her for so long. Each opponent had offered her a sense of release when she’d been free to use her magic, each match dragging her further and further from the light until there was not a drop left. She knew there was no going back, but Esme didn’t care. This was who she was, what she was born to be, an agent of chaos, her magic was destruction in its purest form.
Since her first match she’d opened a door inside herself that couldn’t be closed again and had accepted it. The witch believed she was walking into yet another easy win, toss someone around like a rag doll, crush their body into a bloody pulp with her psionics and feel glad about it. But as she stepped out onto the field once more and her eyes lay on the child before her, Esme was honestly surprised.
Dumb luck must have carried the girl this far, and for once in the competition, Esme was at a crossroads. “You’ve come far pup.”
