Meet Horoyoshi III, considered to be one of the world's finest full body tattoo artists. He has worked in Yokohama, near Tokyo, for the past 50 years.
This article was by Charlie Floyd and Ju Shardlow and it was posted in July 2019. People have tattoos on for many reasons it can symbolize protection, it can have a strong meaning for the owner and many other meanings. In Japan they have tattoos throughout their whole body. “That’s not what we see everyday.” I find the whole thing very interesting and all of the history.
Remember in issue #1 when Spidey told readers to mail in their questions and comments? Well it looks like this is when they started printing them! What a fun way to cap off a comic! Let's see what some of them are saying!
So according to our buddy Tom, here, it seems like reception to JJJ erred more on the side of "man, what an asshole!" which is hilarious compared to how most people love the character nowadays! I agree that the second story was LEAGUES better than the first, too!
It's crazy how comics used to print the full address of the fans underneath their full name - they're just straight up doxxing them! Imagine this still happened nowadays! I wonder if anyone would be brave enough to share their opinions...
Bill nails it on the head here with wanting to see Spidey fight common criminals more!
In fact, I COMPLETELY FORGOT TO MENTION that this issue was the first instance where Spidey stops a group of baddies and they're NOT the main villain of the book!
I guess him fighting regular crooks feels so commonplace nowadays that it didn't even register in my little acorn brain.
The rest of Bill's letter is hilarious in the sense that he's just giving Stan and Steve pointers on what they should do in the following issues! A few other letters have said that the art or writing could have been better, too! I guess times haven't changed as much as we think!
Shoutout to Phil here - if only he knew Spidey would continue for the next 63 years and counting! Apparently Stan and Steve felt the same way (unless they're talking about the lashes, in which case I think they have some problems to work out).

And there it is - our first interaction with the Spider's Web!
This is always a treat to read through. Like I said at the beginning of this whole venture, but one of the reasons I'm even doing this (besides being a nut) is to experience the Spidey saga as a whole and put myself in the shoes of people at the time they came out.
I was born in 2000, so I can only imagine what it was like to be a kid in the 60's reading these stories. The Spider's Web sections, however, really help to cement how certain fans felt about the webslinger at the time, which is an amazing and important piece of comic book history!
With this, we've now completed our SIXTH appearance of Spidey! Next up, to my surprise after doing a quick search, is SANDMAN! I could've sworn he appeared later, but I'm not complaining!
Progress: 6/4616
And hey! Won't you look at that! A pin up from MY PAL SPIDEY!
He signed it himself and everything, so you know he means it!
I wonder if any kids back in the day tore this page out of their comic just to pin on their wall. I also wonder if they beat themself up about it later after seeing how much one of these issues go for on eBay!
I also probably wouldn't care a ton if my last paycheck gave me enough to cover a year's worth of rent...
LMAO poor Johnny
He just wanted to prove himself and now he's been upstaged! Imagine the conversation he makes with the team once he heads home.
I know I was kind of complaining earlier about the padding of the story when it came to Spidey climbing a wall, but having one story per issue instead of two allows Lee and Ditko to be more creative and exciting with the action scenes.
If this was condensed down into half it's length, we likely would have only seen this fight last a page!
I also love the little fact that even though Doc Ock's arms are super powered and durable, Otto's face is very much not! One old fashioned punch to the jaw knocks the shit out of this guy! The trouble isn't beating him up - it's just getting TO him.
After sizzling Otto's arms together with his science project, Spidey unleashes his ultimate attack:
GOING FOR THE EYES!
