If you remember my previous post about random ASP finds, I think I found the transcription for the radio ads!
This was in the '72 press book, which I'm making a post on sometime soon. There's some funny stuff in it, but this too!
i miss them so bad
For anyone who's been looking for it, the full 1972 adaptation of A Separate Peace was uploaded to Youtube!
The contrast between the accuracy of the 1972 film and the 2004 film is actually really funny.
The 1972 version, from what i recall, sticks very close to the source material - even using direct quotes from the book very often - and adds a few bits of fun here and there that aren't in the source.
Meanwhile the 2004 version just goes. Like it just happens. Some things are just *there*. Like Leper's literal h*tler cosplay, oh and Brinker's a part of the group from the start - and he's got ~ suave ~, and there's a whole relationship between Leper and Brinker that just?? Doesnt exist in the book??
Nevertheless both versions are enjoyable in their own ways.
Did you ever get a hold of that vinyl with the radio spot?
I haven't yet! I'm kinda broke at the moment lol but I hope to get it soon if it's still available. But honestly now that I know what it says, I'm alright if I can't get it down the line.
Where are you guys watching A Separate Peace 1972 😭
