Can you perhaps give me some worldbuilding? Some perspective on sbi’s dynamic? More info on their powers and such? Really just anything will do.
Okay I’ll try to give you as much as I can while avoiding spoilers so-
Kintsugi is built a bit different than Hush in that Heroes, instead of largely working on their own, is encouraged to make teams that are represented by their costumes. It’s why they’re all wearing light blue- it was the colour scheme of SBI’s team Sleepy Bois. Heroes are also far more public in that it’s expected that civilians will know the faces of their Heroes which means that, once you become a Hero, you pretty much sign away your life to it and know that at the end of your career there is no real way of going back to a civilian life. It’s very much a Live and Die for the job kind of career.
This is also largely why Split got into the Sleepy Bois team as early as he did. The moment Philza became a Hero and adopted Techno, Wilbur and Split it was pretty much expected that all of them were going to end up Heroes- especially Split who was the youngest of the family so he had a lot of pressure to live up to as his brothers and father were all ranked top Heroes by the time he became a teenager.
On the flip side you make a lot of money as a Hero and your life is pretty much set once your team make the top 50 ranking and the government will keep paying your bills and hush down any scandals (it’s not unusual for Heroes to be a bit... messed up at the end of their career, it’s rough work). All Hero Teams have a handler assigned to them that are in charge of judging whether a team is fit to work or not and who will bench them and prevent any mission assignments if they decide it’s in their best interest.
You already know Split’s powers, and you’ll learn more about the rest of the SBI’s in the next chapter :)
Regarding their dynamic- Philza was, for many years, the Number One Hero, and his sons were expected to follow in his footsteps. Techno would come to take over the Number One Spot, Wilbur chilling on the Number Three Spot, and Split- he was the healer who stayed back in their apartment and for a time never officially ranked as he was not an offensive Hero until he was but we will touch more upon that in the next chapter!
