Apollo: my character sees a future event involving yours
There was a new face in her dreams last night, a woman that felt so very familiar though Cass was certain they had never met. This dream felt so strange and so real, like one the girl had never experienced before; while she was sleeping at least. Cassie could feel everything in this dream as though she were actually there, from the wind on her face to the feelings of hopelessness and despair. These emotions were crippling, and she had woken in a cold sweat, disoriented and alone. The Doctor had long since gone away, leaving her behind.
But he was there, in the dream, standing tall and looking the part of a hero as always, his bow-tie slightly askew. Cass could feel his touch, every word he spoke was as clear as day, and every look they shared was so very real to her. And that woman. She felt real, too. Thin and quick and brash, with dark hair and wise old eyes. Eyes that sparkled with recognition when they were turned to Cassie's face. And then she realised:
It wasn't a dream.
Visions of the Doctor's future, of Gallifrey's future, had never invaded Cassie's subconscious world. She had always been safe in her dreams, away from the reality of what it was to live in her mind. So what had changed? Cassie brought the image of this woman to the front of her mind, a woman covered in the blood of their enemies at the end of time itself. A Time Lord. Another one? But who, and why did her presence feel so familiar to Cassie? It was as if the pair were linked somehow, as though they shared a bond that was different from the one shared with the Doctor.
She studied the woman's face for a while before another vision presented itself. The same one with a different ending, one word standing out from the rest: Corsair.
"She's back." Cassie whispered, with a horrified expression.
Warmth: Our muses doing something fluffy and cute together;
Cassie looked up at the Doctor, emerald eyes dancing in the sunlight. This planet was lovely, and so was she, seemingly fitting perfectly there in the tall grass, a bright smile lighting her face. "This is amazing." She murmured, resting her head on his shoulder and sighing softly. The Doctor wrapped an arm around the girl, pulling her closer to him and placing a loving kiss in her hair.
"You're amazing."
Cassie smiled and sighed softly, looking out over the soft pink fields of grass from their hilltop, admiring the way the double suns set the sky on fire as they disappeared below the distant mountain tops. The water here ran in rivers of gold and the sounds the bubbling brooks made resembled the deep wooden droll of a cello, the vibrantly coloured flowers dancing along by the riverbanks in the soft evening breeze. Beautiful could not even begin to describe this place.
Cass slipped her hand into the Doctor's, lacing their fingers together in her lap. He smiled and rested his cheek against her head as the pair watched the sunsets, daydreaming idly of what tomorrow's adventures would hold. After a moment Cassie spoke, her voice soft and filled with warmth.
"Do you think they'll remember us when we're gone?" She asked, fiddling with the Doctor's fingers. The man frowned as he watched her.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, all of those people, all of those lives you and I have saved. Do you think they'll remember us somewhere in time after we're dead and gone? Like make cave paintings or write stories or something?" Cass chuckled at the thought; the last of the Time Lords preserved forever on a cliff face as the TARDIS stands vacant in a museum. The Doctor would love that.
The bow-tied man thought for a moment before answering. "Yes. I think they will. They won't worship us by any means, but I certainly believe that someone somewhere will hear our story and pass it on to their children and so on." He turned his face slightly and put a soft kiss into Cassie's hair. "The world could never forget someone as beautiful and kind as you."
She laughed softly. "Or someone as brave and charming as you." Cassie turned to look up at the Doctor, her eyes shining in the fading light of the setting suns. "They will certainly remember you forever. The Doctor hero, saviour of the Universe a hundred times over." The Doctor's only response was a laugh and a gentle kiss.
This is a drabble I decided to write myself based off the lyrics of the song "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol. I hope I can do it justice. Enjoy.
Warning: Though it is not at all NSFW, this drabble does contain some mature ideas and implications.
We'll do it all, everything, on our own.
We don't need anything or anyone.
If I lay here, if I just lay here,
Would you lie with me and just
Forget the world?
Cassie smiled softly at the Doctor, enjoying the way the early morning sun filtered in through the curtains and cast a gentle white glow on the room. Waking up next to him had never felt so perfect, and Cass never wanted the moment to end. He smiled back at her, the light dancing off his bright blue eyes as he lifted a hand to stroke her cheek. Cass's skin was soft beneath his touch, and he let his fingers linger there a moment before gliding down to her shoulder and resting on her arm. Cassie smiled and put her head on his chest, soaking up the familiar musky scent that filled her lungs.
"You stayed." She murmured, closing her eyes to let the reality settle in. This felt too much like a dream for Cassie, felt too surreal, and that frightened her. The Doctor chuckled softly and kissed her hair, pulling Cass closer to him.
"Of course I did." He let her hand slip into his, their fingers lacing together against the exposed skin of his stomach. The woman curled against his body seemed too perfect to exist, fitting against him like a puzzle piece, leaving no gaps between them. He could feel her double hearts beating steadily beneath the flawless skin of her chest, mimicking the rhythm of his own. The Doctor smiled and buried his nose in Cassie's blonde curls, breathing in her sweet scent.
I don't quite know how to say how I feel.
Those three words are said too much,
They're not enough.
If I lay here, if I just lay here,
would you lie with me and
just forget the world?
They couldn't stay there forever could they? Cassie wished it were possible. A moment like this deserved to last as long as it could, and ending it would be a crime. She lifted her head slightly and kissed the Doctor's jaw, letting her lips linger a moment before sighing and resting against him once more. "What are you thinking?" Her voice was silky, little more than a whisper, and it was flooded with a sweetness that almost had a taste.
After pondering for a moment the Doctor slid a finger beneath her chin, bringing her lips to meet his. The touch was so soft, so full of emotion, and it was heartbreakingly perfect. How could he tell her what he was thinking? It was impossible, unfathomable, there were no words for the way the Doctor felt about this girl, but he knew Cassie expected an answer, so he gave her the best one he could.
"I love you."
Forget what we're told,
Before we get too old.
Show me a garden that's
Bursting into life.
Cassie stared back at the Doctor, her bright emerald eyes dazzling him as they lit up with a smile. Cassie's only answer was to kiss him again with more passion that before, though not so much as to ruin the atmosphere they had created. Her lips were soft and tasted so sweet to the Doctor, breathing life into every cell in his body. He wrapped his arms around the blonde, pulling her to him until it was impossible to know where he ended and she began.
The emotions he felt then, the sensations that were blossoming in his every nerve, were all so new and wonderful, like the newborn flowers of a long awaited spring. The Doctor held Cassie close, afraid that if he let go their own little corner of the universe would shatter, ending the perfection of the moment.
Let's waste time,
Chasing cars around our heads.
I need your grace,
To read my needs,
To find my own.
If I lay here, if I just lay here,
Would you lie with me and
Just forget the world?
Cassie shivered as the Doctor's breath touched the bare skin of her neck and collarbones, trailing kisses that sent shivers down her spine. Anywhere his lips touched she felt a heat rise to the surface and linger there to remind Cass of his contact. She bit her lip and twisted her fingers into his hair as the Doctor cradled the blonde beneath him, careful to be light on her body as he closed the final gap that separated them. The Doctor touched his lips to hers once more, this time removing any barriers there had been before. This kiss was filled with all of the passion and hunger he felt for her, flooded with all of the memories the Doctor had of Cassie's sweet smiles, every look she had given him, and every word directed to him that had left her lips. The pair were entwined there amongst the soft white sheets and pillows, completely encased in each other, moving together as though they were one and the same, the softness of the morning light setting them aglow.
Forget what we're told,
before we get too old.
Show me a garden that's
Bursting into life.
All that I am,
All that I ever was,
Is here in your perfect eyes,
They're all I can see.
The Doctor pulled away for just a moment to look into Cassie's perfect emerald eyes. They were burning with passion, a heat that came from somewhere deep in an old soul that had been sleeping there for hundreds of years. He saw himself there in her gaze, and nothing could have been more comforting in that moment, knowing that somewhere someone would always be waiting for him. The Doctor pulled Cassie close once more with a kiss, his body tangled up in her.
"You are all that is lovely and right with the world." He murmured against her lips.
I don't know where,
Confused about how as well,
Just know that these things will never
Change for us at all.
Cassie smiled at his words, knowing that he meant them with every piece of himself. She pressed her body against his and sighed, kissing the crook of his neck before the Doctor lowered her back into the pillows and untangled himself from her. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled Cassie to his chest once more.
The air was filled with their scents all mixed together, and the dust motes spun in circles wherever the bright sunlight pooled around the pair. The Doctor looked down at Cassie and he knew that there would never again be a moment as pure as this. She tilted her head to look up at him, meeting his sapphire eyes with a brilliant smile of her own.
"I love you too."
If I lay here, if I just lay here,
Would you lie with me and
Just forget the world?
"Bowties and Bodies" Sherlock/Eleven [drabble #11]
A request from an anon. I give you Doctorlock (: Enjoy.
Sherlock examined the Doctor closely, taking note of the way he carried himself slightly hunched over, the bags under his eyes, and the way he wrung his hands together. The man was obviously anxious and hadn't slept in a long time. Sherlock sighed and set down his violin with a gentle thud before crossing the room in a single stride, taking the Doctor in his arms.
"What's the matter darling?" He murmured into the man's hair. Sherlock couldn't help but notice he smelled slightly musky, and it filled him with a comforting warmth. The Doctor buried his face in Sherlock's shoulder and sighed. Sherlock's cologne was sweet and subtle, a familiar scent that the Doctor often remembered perfuming his pillows.
"I keep having these terrible nightmares. Whenever I close my eyes it's all I can see. All of their faces looking at me with terrible accusations and-" His voice broke and he swallowed hard, not able to speak. Sherlock hushed the bow-tied man, holding him protectively against his chest. The Doctor held back his tears as he was reminded that Sherlock was there for him, and he was not alone. He was never alone.
"You are brilliant. You only improved their lives, showed them adventure and taught them wonderful things. They could only accuse you of being the amazing man you are." Sherlock's words were firm and soaked with affection. He pulled away and kissed the Doctor softly before looking into the man's piercing blue eyes. "I love you." The Doctor nodded and composed himself, taking a deep breath.
"Right, well. We've got another case to solve, yes?" The Doctor straightened his bow-tie and Sherlock chuckled softly.
"It was the brother. Obviously." He grinned at the Doctor and put on his scarf. "How about dinner?"
River woke with a start, disoriented and confused, her breathing heavy as the world rushed back to her. A soft gasp escaped her lips and she looked round to see her Doctor beside her. The Doctor's bright blue eyes were studying her, brow furrowed. "Are you alright love?"
"Bad dream..." She murmured, pulling herself up. River's hands were shaking and she felt nauseous sitting there in the dark. "The same one. Over and over, like it will never stop." Her voice broke and a sob found its way past her lips. The Doctor wrapped his arms around his wife and held her to his chest.
"Shh... Hush now. I'm here darling." River's cries were quiet and steady. Out there in the world people could believe that she was strong and sexy and confident, but here in the dark is where she fell apart and became the broken child hidden beneath a tough facade.
Every night for a long time now River had dreams, visions even, of her past life. A child raised to kill the man she would love, a woman who was hard and violent. River could often feel the hot sting of the woman's hand against her cheek as she slapped the tears away. Crying was not allowed, crying was weak, and up until she had met the Doctor, River believed every word pf that. She had been conditioned to be hard and to hide her emotions from the world, but she felt safe here, lying next to her bow-tied hero. River let out a shaking breath.
"Hush dear." The Doctor cooed, stroking his wife's hair. "It's alright. She can't hurt you anymore. I won't let anyone hurt you again." His words were reassuring because River knew they were true. The Doctor would give anything to keep her safe, even though he had already given her so much. After a while the tears faded and the Doctor's sweet kisses and shushes lulled her into a deep sleep where she dreamed of far away places and romantic adventures, sighing softly in the arms of her lover.
Mozart's music was hauntingly beautiful, so much more to the Doctor now that he understood the man's situation. He found Wolfie sitting alone in a dressing room, a bottle of Whiskey held firmly in his fist. "That was lovely." The Doctor announced, propping himself up against the door frame as he took in his dear friend's hopeless expression. Mozart didn't reply, he merely took a swig of the deep brown liquid and cringed as it seared his throat.
The Doctor moved across the room with a single fluid stride and sat to face Wolfie, his eyes burning with sorrow and pain at the sight of his friend so emotionally mangled. "Wolfie, I'm so sorry." The musician replied with another drink. Slightly annoyed, the Doctor grabbed the bottle from his hand and threw it across the room where it shattered against the wall, flinging alcohol everywhere.
"Hey!" Mozart gave a halfhearted yell, his face reddening with anger. The Doctor just put a hand on his arm and watched him for a moment before standing and pulling his friend into a tight hug. Wollfie went limp in the Doctor's arms and began to sob silently into his chest.
They stood there for what could have been hours or days, time seeming to slip away, before Wolfie finally pulled away, eyes swollen and red. "Thank you." He murmured, giving the Doctor another hug. The Doctor chuckled softly and held the man to his chest.
"But there's something else, isn't there? Something you aren't saying. I can see it in your eyes, Wolfie. You always were terrible at keeping secrets." He was rewarded with a halfhearted laugh. But Wolfie soon fell silent again. Could he really be doing this? Mozart knew there was no hiding it from the Doctor any more.
"I-" His voice broke and the musician pulled away from the Doctor's embrace, face flushed and bashful. "I love... you. I love you." He looked up at the Doctor from under his lashes before letting out a roar of ridiculous laughter as he always did. The Doctor stood in shock for a moment as he watched the man seemingly going insane before his eyes. Mozart's smiled was wiped away almost instantly, the laughter stopping abruptly.
Then, before either party could understand what had happened, they were in each others arms, kissing passionately, sweetly, deeply. This was the moment they had all been waiting for.
[Leave an “Unbind Me” in my ask, and I’ll write a drabble about your character freeing mine, or the other way around, or something among the lines (be it freeing them from jail, from handcuffs, from a trap, from a curse, feel free to specify.)]
Cassie hurried down the dark stone corridor, careful not to run into any unwanted company. She heard the muffled screams down the hallway and pulled a handgun from the waistband of her jeans, moving toward the helpless yelping.
"Hello?" Her voice was firm as she rounded the corner, gun up. A woman was chained to the wall, face bloody and bruised. "Oh god, Bella." Cassie ran to her, stuffing the gun away before taking the woman's face in her hands. "Are you alright?" The woman replied with a grunt and a smirk. "Right."
Cassie looked around fervently for some way to get Bella out, but saw nothing. "Sorry about this." She pulled the gun from her jeans and shot the chains, causing them to shatter and the ringing of gunshot to resonate around them. Her ears rang a bit. Cassie stuffed the gun away again, pulling Bella up off the floor. "Now we run."

"Where are you taking me?" Cassie laughed happily, trying her best to keep up with the Doctor as he pulled her along up a hill. He only shot her a playful grin and it drove her crazy. At the top of the hill he stopped and took Cassie's hands in his, giving them a gentle squeeze.
"Well?" He murmured though Cassie didn't quite hear him as she took in the beautiful landscape that surrounded them. No, not beautiful. That was the wrong word. It didn't seem to come close to describing what she saw.
The couple stood at the top of a hill covered with lavender grass that cut off just below their knees and covered the whole planet. It was peppered with all vibrant shades of wildflowers from a loud red to a soft pastel blue, each flower unique from the rest like snowflakes. The double suns burned in a blue sky, a sky that resembled early mornings on Earth, showering them in a gentle light that warmed their skin and filled Cassie with a euphoric energy. She couldn't help but smile as she gazed into her lover's eyes.
"Cassie," The Doctor murmured. "Do you love me?" He lifted a hand to her cheek.
"Of course I love you." Her smile slipped away but he quickly pulled it back with a gentle kiss. The Doctor moved his face back an inch or so to look at her, eyes burning with some emotion that Cassie did not recognise.
"Then stay with me. Be mine forever." He whispered, resting his forehead against her's. "Marry me?"
