astormrollsin replied to your post: “i just watched the maximum ride film and c h r i s t that’s the worst...”
I saw it was on netflix and I was like "what the fuck why is this a shitty straight to DVD film" I'm so upset books 1-3 were so good they deserved better
it was the biggest waste of an hour and a half of my life tbh but what should we have expected given how much of a mess the books became
I need you to know that "they have no hacky to sack" made me laugh.

Not to be weird but omg when is your birthday 👀👀 Mine is Feb 5th & my husband's is Feb 14th lol I've never met anyone with my same birthday but my high school English teacher was So Close™️ (Feb 2nd)
Not weird at all! mine’s feb 9th, not as close as your teacher but still within the same week! I’ve never met anybody with my same birthday either but my friend’s bday is the 10th so we JUST missed each other lmao
Hello all! I'm acquiring a young corn snake rather unexpectedly within the next week (long story short his owner was an ex of my best friend who did not want him back after she and my friend broke up) and I've never owned a snake. Are there any tips/tricks I should know about? I'm also very interested in setting up a tank with live plants and things but again, don't know what is good for snakes and what could harm them outside of a basic Google search.
Hi! Congrats on your new pet. Corn snakes make fabulous first reptiles :) Sadly, corn snake care standards are surprisingly hard to find online and I’m really not sure why. So here’s a great care sheet by a trusty breeder right here on tumblr to get you started. This is also a great post containing links with helpful information for beginners.
As for tips and tricks; all reptiles need an adjustment period. Typically this would happen in quarantine, but if you don’t have other reptiles, quarantine can be pretty easy. Set up the tank fairly simply for a while, just so its easy to find wastes and you can be sure everything looks normal. I usually start my reptiles on paper towel for a month or two at first; this makes it easier to see if they have mites or anything like that, plus it gives a clean space, so if your snake is wheezing, whistling or drooling, you know for sure it’s respiratory infection rather than a piece of substrate somewhere it shouldn’t be. In the first week of your new snake’s time with you, you should leave it alone and minimize handling or anything that would stress it out. This is your official adjustment period. It’s just to keep your new friend comfortable and make sure they get a chance to get used to their new surroundings. After that week, you can start regular feeding and handling. Figure out what the snake has been eating. If it’s been eating live, you’ll want to switch it over to frozen thawed (F/T) as soon as possible, which is usually pretty easy with corn snakes, but you might need to be prepared to give it a live feeder for its first meal or two with you. After the snake has eaten, and every time you feed it afterwards, you should avoid handling it for at least a day while it digests, just to minimize stress and the risk of regurgitation. After your adjustment period and first successful meal, you’re pretty much free to begin building the enclosure of your snake’s dreams!
For your live plants; here’s a basic guide on setting up a bioactive enclosure with live plants. And here is a list of plants that are safe to use with reptiles. Since you’re getting your snake pretty soon, I would suggest have two separate enclosures; a temporary set up for your snake while you get your main one ready and let it grow in some. Your temporary set up can be just a simple tub enclosure (there’s a bunch here if you’re not sure what I mean, they’re very inexpensive and easy to make, plus they are perfect quarantine enclosures). Doing this will allow you to take your time with selecting plants, substrate, lighting, etc. as well as, once finished, let you give your plants some time to grow in before they have a snake climbing all over them haha Though, if your corn snake is still a juvenile, it wont be very large, so it’s probably not going to trample your baby plants as easily.
Hopefully this and the links answer your questions, but feel free to message me again if you need clarification on anything or have other questions.
Oh man, I just found your blog and I'm in love with it. As a fellow Target employee (Guest Service) I really admire your overall positivity. I lost mine about 6 months in and now just about the only thing that brings it back is giving kids stickers
Give them strips of stickers instead of single ones for Extra Enjoyment
