So I’ve seen some spoiler free reviews, saying the sequel is worse than the first book of the series. But I strongly disagree!
I felt there was more time for actual plot, rather than just watching the two main characters desperately trying to be together. I liked the world building, but there were parts where I got I little bit bored (visiting all those cities was a bit unnecessary).
The other issue is that there were a few obvious (and I mean really obvious) plot twists. I was able to guess most of them, that wasn’t the problem. Those few instances where the twist was painfully obvious and I just wanted the story to progress, now that was a bit a problem for me.
Now that’s where my negative criticism ends. I really enjoyed this book and these were my only issues, and honestly they’re minor. I noticed less typos so that’s a nice change after the first book.
I finally got what I wanted because Temper had a lot more part in this book, her friendship with Callie is still amazing and I love her character. Malaki - Des’ friend - is also a fun one, though he could have been around more but I’m sure he’ll get his time to shine a bit.
I devoured this book. Barely noticed time passing by and before I noticed, I was 10 pages away from the end. That’s usually what I look forward to in books. A story that just makes me forget time exists and I don’t look at how many pages are left.
