Hey! You!
Do you like science? Do you like accessibility? Do you want to listen to an astronaut give a speech?
Look no farther than SciAccess 2024!
SciAccess is a nonprofit dedicated to advancing disability inclusion and equity in STEM education, outreach, and research. At the SciAccess 2024 Conference, connect with a global community of educators, scientists, students, disability advocates, and industry leaders to discuss best practices in accessible STEM. This year features keynote speeches by Blue Origin Astronaut Dr. Chris Boshuizen, author of Against Technoableism Dr. Ashley Shew, and cultural activist and singer-songwriter Lachi.
The conference is tomorrow and Saturday (May 10-11) and free to attend for any or all of it (though if you donate $15 you have a chance to win a telescope autographed by an astronaut).
Here's a very fancy flier: https://drive.google.com/file/d/131o5TYGJxIbwbePwlQZBWLLa0irdx_T6/view
And here's the link to register: https://sciaccess.org/sciaccess-2024-attendee-registration/
Again, it's free! And you don't have to stay for the whole thing! If you want to pop in for a few minutes, or catch a keynote, that's totally fine and wonderful and will still help my friend by making their numbers go up.
(Disclaimer: I have known Anna for almost a decade now and am consistently impressed by everything they do. This conference is their pride and joy and it's going to be so cool.)
