M66 M66 is a spiral galaxy that is not symmetric, likely caused by previous close interactions and tidal gravitational pulls from nearby galaxy neighbours M65 and NGC 3628.M66 spans about 100,000 light years and lies about 35 million light years distant. It is the largest galaxy in a group called the Leo Triplet. -TEL http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap100413.html Image credit: NASA, ESA, Hubble Heritage, S. Van Dyk (JPL/IPAC), R. Chandar (U. Toledo), D.
