i don't know why I'm thinking about this right now but for some reason over christmas my aunt and her ex husband she still brings with her family events for some reason decided to bring out spirituality? Like my aunt claimed to have talked to her (dead) mother and then when her ex husband was talking to my step dad I heard him say something about not understanding how someone couldn't believe in a higher power because then how would the universe exist. I have absolutely no idea where any of this came from because no one on that side of my family had ever said shit like that before 😭

#I think I prefer my aunt thinking she can talk to spirits over her girlboss predatory grief self help workbook she was working on and #planned to sell to people she was already taking advantage of by trying to sell them more expensive caskets at the funeral home she worked #at.

something that I just remembered is

I can understand the feeling of being unsettled/annoyed when someone doesn't conform to what you deem as regular societal standards

But what I don't understand is the instinct to bully and/or make fun of them for not conforming.

You don't have to be friends with someone you find odd and off-putting but if they aren't actively harming anyone then I can't find a reason why you wouldn't just. Ignore them and go about your day?
