Weasley Christmas

Charlie had forgotten how loud and insufferable his family was. Though some insensitive and unsettling comments were thrown around, it was such a loving environment that Charlie couldn’t help feeling uplifted. With so many people in the Burrow, it was hard to get a word in, let alone a moment to himself. It was almost comical - Bill and Charlie shared their old room, with Fleur, Selena, and Keith all snuggled up in the mix. Though Keith was trying to get Charlie and Selena a moment alone, that was easier said than done. 

After Christmas dinner, Charlie took Selena outside, hoping for just a moment. What he didn’t know was that someone had followed them out and they were being watched. He stood on the patio with her to overlook the land, but moved quickly, knowing he had very limited time to do this. He wrapped his arms around her and gently nuzzled his hair before producing a small ringbox and opening it to her. “I’m sorry it’s not much. You deserve so much more...” he whispered quietly in her ear.

Matchmaker; Keith and Monica

Monica was trying to stay out of the limelight on this one. She wanted Charlie to get the credit, and it was sounding like it was a bad match anyway, with Keith and Ellie still not getting together. But when Ellie told Monica that they'd had sex and she hadn't been to her own apartment any night that week? Monica couldn't hold it in any more. She called Keith as soon as she finished talking to Ellie and skipped the formalities all together. "Is it true?! You and Elora?" She asked excitedly as soon as he picked up.

Visitors

Seth was trying to balance fatherhood and work. Though he took a paternity leave to help Katie and spend time with Katie, he still came in a few hours a day to help his cousin, knowing he was overwhelmed with the business and Romilda. But on this day, he happened to run into the wrong Nott. Xavier and Rabastan were tearing through the office, looking for any signs of the couple. Luckily, he had gone into Seth’s office because Theo and Romilda had gone out for lunch. They should have been back soon, and at least their fathers were distracted with Seth.  

Xavier’s wand was pressed to Seth’s neck, yelling into his face, while Rabastan went through the filing cabinet, looking for any sign of where they were staying. But Seth kept his head, both metaphorically and physically. He knew that it would cause more harm than good if they were to hurt him and get his side of the family involved to defend his honour. “I don’t know where he is,” he kept repeating, louder than necessary so if Theo heard, he’d know to get Romilda and get out. “I don’t know where they are, they’ve been out all day. They live in London, if they’re not there, I don’t know where they are.”

Another Year; Para

Charlie loved his new job. He loved working with both the animals and the kids. He loved the care he was required to give, and he loved reading papers on what they thought. He loved being back at Hogwarts. But all that love didn’t stop his mental health from spiralling out of control. With his birthday so soon, he felt like he was wasting away his life. He felt like Selena was waiting around for a better version that just wasn’t coming. At least when he was working with the dragons, he could see his progress at the end of the day. There, he had a purpose. That’s where his true love was. He supported Selena and Keith to the ends of the world, but the envy he had was draining all the happiness out of his being. After years, he had gotten good at hiding it, but he’d still get caught staring off into space or talking to an animal he shouldn’t be. This was one of those times.

And once again it was time for another Hogsmeade visit. The climate was getting colder and colder by the hour, and Annora couldn’t be happier about it. She loved winter more than any other season. As she walked down the street, Annora looked inside her bag for a scarf; as she did so she bumped into someone. “I’m so sorry! I didn’t see you.” Annora said and opened her eyes in fear and bit her lip as she looked over to the person standing in front of her.

Flower; Reo

Romulus was getting better in leaps and bounds now that she felt safe under Theo's absolute care. She'd even had the courage to return to work a few days, when her mental health would allow her to. Today was not one of those days, but they happened. She waited patiently for Theo to come home, and that was her purpose. To pass the time, she spent lots of time watching videos on the internet. She was never very crafty, but she tried none the less. When Theo got home, she smiled and bashfully handed him a tissue paper flower that was just lopsided and flimsy, but she had spent hours on it for him. She gave him an encouraging smile before returning to bed.

“I forgot how fucking horny seventh years are,” Charlie teased. “And they haven’t got any more creative with their hiding places.”
