Atelier 4 - Exploration 2
360 Video Making
During this week we focused on the creation and development of 360 video from filming to viewing it on a VR headset. This exploration was interesting on the basis of learning methods and tactics on how to properly film and capture our ideas with this exiting tech. I was with team D, our key words were fast/slow. For this we set up a jousting ring with the camera in the center, as for the slow part we set up the camera in the center of a meditating ring. Both scenarios had solid camera work and since they were filmed on flat surfaces did not induce nausea. With the camera work done the way we did it it also gave the viewer the perfect view of what was going on. Viewing it today after we stitched the video we saw several things we would have liked to change like camera height and location, however those were minor things. All in all it was an interesting exploration and should be done at least once for people that have little to no experience in 360 video because it gives them a solid step-up towards their filming goals.
