4. what genre(s) is your WIP?

mostly fantasy, with more than a dash of sci-fi and a considerable amount of Mystery ;^) (it is. actually also technically crime fiction but that's a minor element at best and i can't tell you why)

13. what POV is your WIP in?

3rd person limited, alternating between the two protagonists (Moss & Angharad)

16. describe your writing routine (if you have one)

uhhhh i'm pummeled with the delicate fist of inspiration at 11pm, frantically write a load of mostly nonsense down in a sugar-fueled haze then pass out in the wee hours, before inspecting the damage The Muse Hath Wrought the next day

(or: i have no routine because my brain doesn't like to make things easy for me)

9. Are you a plotter or a pantser? (meaning: do you write with an outline or do you just wing it?)

in terms of worldbuilding and general vibes i am definitely a plotter (stares hollow-eyed at my Notes folder), but ironically when it comes to the plot itself i am completely and brazenly trouserless

15. What's the weirdest thing you've had to google for your WIP?

so far i'm not deep enough into the specifics to have had many opportunities for googling, though i guess 'was Wales under water when the dinosaurs died' fits the bill

7. what is the line last wrote?

But Bristle and Bramble passed through the curtain unharmed, not a scrap of fur out of place.

19. Who/What is the antagonist of your story? What motivates them?

the antagonist leads a group of researchers investigating whether humans can survive without being 'corrupted' by unnatural magic - that is, magic that has been used by humans and then reintroduced into the magical ecosystem, considered the antithesis to 'pure' natural magic.

she knows things no one else does, and is motivated by Fear & Dread :) !

20. What are some tropes you’re using in your WIP?

on a surface level i am adopting the Nonbinary Shapeshifter trope, but in my defense: 1) im none biney, 2) there will be several conversations that take place in the story relating to gender, identity, and how shapeshifting fits into that, and 3) i think i'll pull it off in a cool way B^)

i want to subvert a lot of fantasy tropes where i can, and most of them are hopefully veto'd by the fact that this isn't a medieval setting, but i will be playing a couple semi-straight (Angharad is without a doubt a Reluctant Hero, and Moss does initially set off on a quest of sorts)
