The light of hope

Lawrence put some thought in her words, a part of him felt sour at her statements, felt like she was preaching, a tinge of pain as she spoke as if she understood...no this wasn't about his past, she couldn't possibly have known about him and his brother's past. It's not the point; he was holding his arm after the fight, craning his head upward, he'd then slowly shake it in disagreement.
"You don't get...it...brought them here on accident; and they tried to kill you..." The summoner would explain to her, she was so overly calm up until now, but now explaining this, explaining he accidently brought a foe here and that they wanted to take her out to steal her riches and he luckily was able to jump in the way of the attack and the man got away, he could return to try again, and for that Lawrence had to apologize.
Still she spoke as if nothing effected her, or if she understood how he felt as an individual, very sage-like or robotic; it seemed like she was unbothered by everything, like nothing affected her. Was he selfish for feeling this? Thinking she was talking down to him? But he was looking forward to the future, that's why he was traveling, why he was here. Still he was kicked and injured and wanted to apologize, "Sorry...I'll find him before he tries anything on your life again.." He'd bow his head towards her out of respect.
