Atlantic Ocean (November 15, 2005) - A U.S. Marine Corps MV-22B Osprey, assigned to Marine Tiltrotor Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron Two Two (VMX-22), takes off from the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1). The MV-22 is an advanced technology, vertical/short takeoff and landing (VSTOL) multipurpose tactical aircraft, and is scheduled to replace the aging CH-46E Sea Knight and CH-53D Sea Stallion helicopters currently in service. ATLANTIC OCEAN (April 4, 2008) The Norfolk-based guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60) steams toward the British ship HMS Ark Royal (R-07) during a maneuvering event as part of Constant Alliance 08, a U.S.-United Kingdom exercise that builds on existing defense partnerships.
