Alex, could you give me a piece of the event that would happen if Dream and George returned to the castle (+Sapnap if they managed to get him back) instead of turning against Sovereign? Anything, literally anything so I could write it myself :)

Well, the Sovereign would have been quite infuriated at Hunter and George if they came back without Sapnap, and while he couldn't take his anger out on Hunter, since he still believes him to be his past self, you can bet poor George would have got the full burn of his anger.
If they managed to get Sapnap back, his reaction would be a bit more subdued, he'd probably remark to Hunter in a condescending manner that he wasn't still to his level, but that he knew his past self would reach to the point of being able to capture his prey, if he just let go of his silly attachment. (Even if he himself has an attachment to his two once-friends even if now it's just because they are useful pawns to him).
