Truthfully, some days I feel kind of cranky about it all. I get cranky about not working as much as usual and not feeling as productive as I think I should be. I day-dreamed about taking one last great trip before the baby comes, and I get cranky setting those plans aside. And I get cranky just like any other human being about having the flow of my normal daily impeded and restricted, even if I can understand why things need to be this way. I’d love to tell you I never have to wrestle with negative thoughts or prickly moods, but I’d be lying. But I am at least learning how to have a better relationship with myself in those moments. My yoga helps me engage with my experiences instead of trying to deny them or change them (not everything needs to be fixed!) Turning to my practice helps me digest and metabolize the cranky and the prickly and hopefully convert them into a little more patience, a little more compassion, a softer heart.
