ANYWAY i was thinking about different medias i could put ii into as AUs and i got to epic the musical

if anyone’s into epic……PLEASE help me build this up because i haven’t listened to the full thing (i’m a fake fan i know) but this is what i have so far for an epic x ii au:

Odysseus: Test Tube

Penelope: Fan

Telemachus: Bot (obviously)

Polites: Lightbulb

Eurylochus: Baseball because he sucks/aff

Athena: Cabby

Poseidon: Trophy and his head bowl thing is filled with WATER

Circe: Salt, Pepper, or Magnet idk

Hermes: Silver Spoon

The Prophet: Candle

Zeus: MePhone4, or Cobs maybe

Antinous: Jack

the infant ody had to kill at the beginning: Egg

i made ody test tube and penelope fan because i feel like test tube is more capable of actually succeeding in ody’s quest…fan would die like year 1 lets be real. also, transfem fan ftw

i have no clue what anyone else would be, someone who is more knowledgeable about epic the musical please assist me THANK YOU🙏

Is it bad to say I think some people in the fandom glorify being a Victor/Mentor (and especially the trafficked ones) too much? Some people genuinely seem to think it's just a fun month-long party of being a sports coach (forgetting that they're coaching kids in a death match to, gasp, the death) and that everything is just party drugs and sleepovers?

On the one hand, I want people to enjoy the fandom in whatever ways they want. And it's fun in an AU setting from time to time. On the other, though, it's just a little bit weird, right? Idk, maybe that's a pretentious take.

🔞📕 The Highly Unconventional au/story by @alexandraisyes and @turbotasthick (I think?? I'm pretty sure chat-) was kind of my first introduction to tsams shipping aus, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. I couldn't stand it while I read it (it was just so dark it made me sick, its fucking phenomenal writing), but I kept reading it cause it sucked me in. Now I physically can't reread most of the first book lmao, but I love to reread small parts, as well as rereading whats out of the second. I love dad Kc and mom Solar Flare!! And just Sun's relationship with everyone. (I also have a new appreciation for angst, though its still hard for me to read)

I love @sunny-inajar's ATWR au! I'm not usually a fan of Solruin, but God Sommet is so cute I can't even- and I love Eclipse, and Sun is so pretty!!! God i could gush about that au so hard dude- RV is so pretty too idc-

📕 Snjsnhnrfi @kuuchaos's Backstage au is fucking great. I'm going to read the new chapter of Ameliorate as soon as I'm done making this list- Nexus is adorable, Solar and Eclipse are great, I'm really interested to see whats going on with Dark Sun, and nwuensiabshdjd FUCKING NUMBUS DUDE??? Also I can't wait to see more of Jack- god I love all of them im insane

🔞📕 Oh, and of course the @emhm au because oh my god. This au made me realize I relate to Eclipse a lot and I dont like that realization but its okay chat. I love Sun, I want to fight Lunar, and beussusbshs I'm sorry I love Old Moon dude, he's now little guy??? I fucking adore that. And I love the little Sun group chat, nsisnsjs all the different Sun's are so great. And God i just want to cradle Nisshoku and hold him so close the poor little guy. And like I said I related to Eclipse so I love and hate him, but I dont relate to him just enough to think he doesn't deserve anything bad happening to him. I love him dude shwnwusnd I do cringe whenever he's telling people to have sex or talking about when he's had sex with Sun, but that doesn't make me love him any less (well maybe it does but its just a littllee less lmao)

I do really like @ayyy-imma-ninja's fairy au. I need to take the time to learn more about it though- like read all the comics and stuff! Its a really good au

I also do really enjoy the @villainoustrioau. Its a lot of fun to see and I really like seeing all the Eclipse's being evil together!!

And of course, last but not least, the Confessionverse!!!! Because of course, I'm obsessed. I have so much fun getting to talk to J about Sol and Pan, and I love the roommates in general! It's a lot of fun, and the au is just great. Its a very fun and creative way to do an au! (Creativity i don't really partake in since I'm more focused on being a confession blog than an rp blog!)

OK VERY LAST UPDATE FROM EPIIC ANON HERE ON THE EPICxII AU

i did a lot of back and forth on the characters + whether or not ody should be fan or test tube, and i decided that it could honestly go either way—test tube is definitely more capable of completing odysseus’s quest, but looking at the actual songs themselves, there’s honestly a lot of emphasis on penelope being a woman/odysseus being a man that i think if i were to ever make an animatic or something, i would want fan to be ody for the lyrics to make more sense (except in some songs like Thunder Bringer that i can kinda fudge a bit). but i think test tube is like a million times more likely to kill as many people ody did for her family than fan is, so she’s odysseus in my heart

au where poppy was raised by cobs at the same time that cobs was raising mephone, and they grew up alongside each other like weird awkward siblings

cobs got two shimmer eggs in this au (fan still found a third one on mars, so that stays the same) and he gave the second one to poppy

and he wants to find out if shimmer energy can be put into living “real” objects like he put thwm into machines

so poppy is responsible for taking care of this egg that they’re supposed to one day absorb or something, and in the meantime mephone4 goes through his canon life normally (runs away from meeple and starts ii, and he also makes a gemory with memories of poppy)

and while ii is happening, poppy is growing up all lonely and stuff in meeple hq, they don’t really like cobs and their life kind of sucks lol, they’re like rapunzel basically

anyway when the ii finale happens and cobs dies, poppy is on the ship when it gets deleted and falls to the island too

they meet all the islanders during the season two finale instead of at the start of season four, and they’re way more morally neutral instead of outright good like they were in canon

they didn’t like cobs and aren’t super torn up about his death, but also they don’t really like mephone4 anymore after he “abandoned” them and they’re kinda just indifferent to the island. they’re emo basically

idk what happened with the egg exactly, maybe they absorbed it before cobs died and can do shimmer magic and stuff, or maybe they still have it and refuse to give it to fan/test tube/the OSC/the shimmers if they see it

anyways i’m not super creative and can’t think of anything else for this au, someone take it over and make it better pls thank you. the name is ummmmm shimmerpoppy au

Maybe one day I'll draw some more catified designs for the heck of it. I know one idea I had for the catified au was that Capitolites were basically sparklecats. Sparklefurs are always fun to draw and design.
