❝ the struggle is real.
A month? A year? A decade? It was hard to tell how long has passed when all Eren could think about was fighting Titans... Or the lack thereof here in 2014. Sure, they were all safe but not everyone else back in their time. Being brought forward in time was no doubt terrifying, and it's finally taken a toll on him.
Everyday he sits, not wondering about what will happen to them or how they will live in an age they don't belong, but he wonders if everyone else back at home has been eaten by the Titans with the absence of the squad. The mere thought of that makes him sick in the stomach.
It was unfortunate that one fine day, as he was walking around the streets (looking for clothes that suited the weather better and maybe also exploring those cool new gadgets he's seen everyone carrying around), he came across the only thing in the modern age that resembled a Titan: the wacky waving inflatable arm-flailing tube man, or better known as the airdancer.
He gritted his teeth and threw a death glare at the lifeless object which seemed to stare right back at him as it swayed around, mocking him with every flail of it's arms. With clenched fist, he willed himself not to bite onto his hand and transform into a Titan in public at that very moment, no matter how much he wanted to wipe that disgusting, cannibalistic smile off the balloon's face.
He stood there for long while as the internal struggle stirred in him. But he finally decided that, for the public's safety, he would not transform. It was difficult decision, but he was mature enough to make it; he didn't want to hurt the innocent bystanders just for a delusional battle he was in with a fucking balloon. He gave a threatening hiss and with defeated footsteps, he stomped off in the other direction.
Once again, Jaeger saved the day (from himself).
