It was nighttime. The water was black as ink and just as smooth. Nnoitra did not need much light for his single eye to see, and in any case, his other senses were more important. He knew he was close to shore. So close that he could see the black walls of land. Close to where humans lived. He could smell it in the water. The toxic smell of oil and garbage. Still, there were no lights, so he must still be in a secluded place. He would’ve liked to see some pretty city lights. But - then he’d have to endure even more polluted water.
A sudden SPLASH startled him. Only a second later, he could smell blood. Something had just fallen ( or been dropped? ) in the water. Something that was bleeding. It was floating on the surface. Nnoitra could tell it wasn’t moving - so it had to be dead. He was not a scavenger by any means, but the scent of BLOOD still riled him up. He wanted a taste at least. With quick movements, he swam towards the source, and then he could SLAM his jaws down onto his new meal. It --- WHAT THE HELL WAS THIS!? He spat out something bad tasting. Part of what he had gotten in his mouth was human flesh - which was not the most tasty thing, but still better than this other thing! Something chewy that he had tasted before. Plastic! It got stuck between his teeth, and in his throat. He coughed and tried to pull the stringy plastic out of his mouth. Since his target had been so close to the surface, Nnoitra was now breaking it, his head above water while he pulled plastic out of his mouth, coughing and spitting. WHY would someone wrap his food in plastic!? / @dogchained ,, starter call.
