Detention, the slip read, a dirty white segment of print emitting subtle tones as it underwent relentless assault caught between skillful fingertips. Lips pursed together in indication of how passive he’d grown to this point in his life, the troublesome teen strolled at a relaxed pace, hardly paying any mind to the unused lockers around him. “What’re the point of those?” Jongin murmured under his breath, knowing fully well that his surroundings were isolated, any hint of another heartbeat locked up in a classroom for the option between detention and extracurricular activity– which was a fancier way of labeling excess work and an inviting paycheck to those who proctored. “If we have lockers, we should at least have the opportunity to use them.” For, due to unfortunate circumstances nearly twenty years back, the use of lockers were forbidden to ensure the safety of students. Not to say that such a thing truly bothered the boy, but alas, his mind enjoyed picking up on the smaller details in life.
Slowing step prior to the reach of his destination, he released a soft exhale, almost exasperated with no one but himself– this was the umpteenth time he’d gotten into an issue with a teacher; Jongin wasn’t a problem child, he just had a smart mouth, forever striving to correct his teachers. Such a feat never went by well, and many would assume that he held an overwhelming amount of disrespect to his name; truly, his intentions went by misunderstood. He was a fan of learning new material, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience to the finest extent– but there was a standard to school that never allowed those around to elaborate on theories relating to their conceptions, which was why he came across as disinterested. Inflated with thoughts of no one but himself. Which was wrong, but assumptions thrived in the environment– no one was able to help such a thing in the name of themselves. “I don’t wanna go…” He finally let out, pausing before the door, knowing fully well that there was someone on the other side expecting him. “I just want to sleep.”
