"Where the fuck have you been?!?" Ren had been worried sick ever since Sophie had gone missing and in true Winchester form lashed out instead of trying to be calm about her friends sudden reappearance. "I was getting ready to have Cas look for you!"

          Sophie flinched as Ren began to yell. She knew she deserved it, and if she was in the other’s shoes she’d probably be doing the same thing. “I should have called or something, I know. I was an asshole for not getting a hold of you--or anyone, for that matter--but something came up with my mom that I had to deal with. I’m okay though. Still in one piece, still alive, still human. You can do all the tests and everything.”

If Sophie had been a smart girl, she would have realized that getting an actual tattoo of the anti possession symbol would have been a good idea. She had been scared, terrified of the tattooing process that she skipped out all together, opting to try to be clever and drawing it on herself with sharpie.

It worked, except for tonight. Of course she’d end up in water--the marker washing off. Something ancient and dark and evil took advantage of that, taking over her body. It was demonic, but not in the sense that it had it’s own personality. It seemed more primal--like it had been trapped in the pit for so long that it had forgotten anything else but destruction. 

It was warping the young woman’s mind, using it like a plaything to do it’s bidding. She couldn’t stop it, and while she felt like she was in control for the most part, it was twisting her--making it so that she wanted to do what it wanted. 

“You look like the cat’s got your tongue.” ‘Sophie said, tilting her head to the side as she glanced at the other woman. She was covered in blood, none of it hers, and none of it belonging to the monsters she hunts. “It’s just a little blood. Chill.”

“ain’t that interestin’,” he says sourly, watching her. “might have to visit them as a Fed and ask to see their liquor license tomorrow.”

He hates the idea of her going out by herself. he knows she can handle herself, of course, and if the time ever came where she couldn’t, he’d wreck a little John Winchester justice on whomever dared to hurt her. and it’s not that she’s drinking underage: he’s not that kind of hypocrite. Hell, he put Dean’s first beer in his hand when he was 14 years old. no, it’s none of the usual reasons dads don’t want their daughters out by themselves. It’s so much more than that, that the other reasons seem laughably quaint. 

He knows what lurks out there. He knows about monsters and ghosts and help his damned soul, he knows about Hell and demons. And they know about him. They’ve come at him through his children before. so much worse can happen to her than robbery and rape. He hates letting her out of his sight, though he learned the lesson of letting go with Sammy.

“Get in the shower, girl. Sober you up some. Then we’ll go on up to that diner and get us some food. I wasn’t sleepin anyway.”

Our muses in a hostage situation together.

A throbbing pain pounded against the walls of Aaron’s skull, bringing him back into consciousness. His eyes squeezed shut a little tighter. More sleep was probably the answer, he reasoned, and he tried to lift a hand to rub his temples.

Metal pressed into his wrist instead. Aaron’s eyes snapped open.

The handcuffs didn’t budge no matter how hard he pulled. Though the headache got worse with every moment that passed, he finally realized its cause: angel warding. And with that came his least favorite word. Trap.

Just breathe. Freaking out won’t get you out of here. Aaron’s eyes settled on a woman to his right and, though her mess of dark hair covered her face, there was no mistaking who it was.

“Ren,” he hissed, and glanced around. When nobody came, his voice grew louder. “Ren, wake up.”
