Astonishing.
Final showdown with the Archmage.
This is as tense and dramatic as any comic I've ever read. It really does feel as if the entire universe is in peril. And the villain's dialogue is superb, it captures a chilling sense of superiority. One I've never seen before. It's gripping to see all the Legionnaires fail in battle. Later, watching them turn the tide is thrilling. But is it too late to effect meaningful change?
Loved seeing characters like Brainaic Five, White Witch, Cosmic Boy and Dream Girl back in the book. I've missed them.
