College Activism

This article discusses historical examples of college queer activism like the Student Homophile League in 1969. It discusses the intersectionality of queer student activism that models after anti racist groups like the Black Liberation Front. At our school, we have the Auraria GSA and the LGBTQ Resource center. Auraria GSA has hosted a drag show, a queer art show,  a halloween party, and more. Some flyers are visible and they have active social media.

The LGBT center on campus is pretty visible and is tri-institutional. The were really easy to find and they host many different events with a lot of community programs. The events were educational and social though not heavily activist. They seem to capable of exposing threats to the LGBT student community. The events and classes that they teach are definitely oriented towards fostering connections for the LGBT student body.
