Okay time for Aurelius/Monstrosity au PT. 7. It's time for me to start talking about what I had thought up for Lucas a few years ago.
So near the beginning of the au I had thought it'd be neat if Lucas was part sea creature.
I also made Galarin his Mom, he also has a human mom in this au cause idk Galarin gives off Lesbian vibes to me.
So I should probably talk about what I had planned for gods in this au since I made Lucas Galarin's son. Like I mentioned in my last post I want the gods in FTO to be more like gods in actual mythology, which I can expand on more in a later post since some of my ideas for the gods have changed a bit (it will probably be in a post about my FTO rewrite/au). So gods like things that interest, amuse or they find pretty. I think it even includes living things.
What I'm trying to say is that Galarin found Lucas' human Mom pretty, especially her voice because I gave her song magic. So in this au (and I'm going to be changing her backstory and lore for my FTO rewrite, and the rewrite of this au) I had made Lucas' human mom be a sort of sacrifice from Lucas' village to appease Galarin and stop her from causing destruction. I also had Lucas' Mom and Lucas' master (Nesso) be siblings because why not. Galarin does actually like having the sacrifices she usually turns them into sea creatures/monsters or water spirits. But they kept Lucas' Mom human, and after a while she married her. I had them fall in love over time, well as close as a god can get to loving someone. So they get a house together on the beach and they have Lucas and they're happy for a while. But of course things can't ever last and I for some reason I had really liked making things angsty in this au.
So eventually some mages come to their home and try and attack Galarin but they end up killing Lucas' Mom in the process, which understandably angers Galarin and the only one who is able to stop them is Nesso who decides the only way to stop to stop her is by sealing her away inside of Lucas. For multiple reasons one; Galarin held favor in both Lucas and his Mom so she will be unlikely to hurt Lucas in the process of trying to escape her "human" prison. The second reason is that he had followed after the mob but wasn't fast enough to save his sister, so this is the only way that Nesso knows that the group of other mages will spare Lucas. Right before Galarin is sealed away though she turns what is left of Lucas' Mom into a water spirit (she isn't quite fully present as a spirit since she did die before she was turned and the process wasn't perfect since it was rushed).
So Nesso takes Lucas on as a student (I made Lucas fairly young in this au I made him a young child at this time, then in season 4 I decided to make him 20). In this au I had Nesso not tell Lucas that he is his uncle (only for this au is he his uncle), as well as make Lucas tell no one that Galarin is his other parent, so eventually Lucas forgets that they are. Nesso also made Lucas wear the gloves that he wears in the series. The gloves sort of work as a 'glamour' as well as a seal for his natural magic (I have it so that god slayers have 2 magics the magic they're born with and their gods magic). So Lucas looks human as long as he wears his gloves, he can take them off but he has sort of an internalized hate for his own magic and his true appearance.
• Another point that I hadn't added in earlier was how I want Galarin to be one of Kay's friends from during her days with the other Fox spirits. So Galarin would have known that Kay was a god but they would have left Kay to figure it out on her own. In fact I had it planned in my head that Kay would have been visiting Galarin and Lucas' Mom with the twins (Michael and Devin) when the hunters attacked, which is why she would have been away.
Almost forgot eat up guys; @wooffloofstudios @leaf-in-a-flower-garden @sleepyburito @missingfileerror @foggythefandomgremlin
Okay an Addendum or rather an Addition to the Aurelius/Monstrosity au. Because Toffie is a little forgetful and forgot something.
This is more or less about Mitch's time as Viper while in Grimshade. But I will be using this post for any other things I forgot to add to the au.
Also I guess some of this is a bit morbid so be aware.
So here's the Viper part:
For Viper I mentioned before that he would take out anyone who was being mean to Devin and Michael. So this is sorta a continuation of that point.
I want him to have a secret room under Atlantide, since there are many secret rooms apparently. And I want him to use it for his 'Doctor' persona. He definitely has those skeletal reconstructions of things. Human, dragon, etc. He makes them himself. He also does do this to the people who are mean to Devin and Michael.
This is heavily inspired by that one Dismemberment Song animatic with the mer people.
Kay's name in the au:
I'm not sure if I had it in the post previously, but I was just reminded that I didn't really give Kay a name in this au. I had her name be Cursed Princess in Korean in the au, but that's more of a title than anything. The reason I did that I based fox spirits more around the Korean Kumiho rather than Japanese Kitsune. So she doesn't exactly get a proper name in the au.
Sorry Kay, this is the au where people are dehumanized.
Seek:
I remember I had plans for him, at least one variant of the au I played around with had him work with Viper during the previous dragon war as a medic.
Then for a different part of the au I planned for Seek to survive Zata trying to kill him. But I had it so that he would need mobility aids, like a wheel chair, or back and leg braces with those forearm crutches.
Spoilers for Colin and Seek's finale-
That was before I learned that Colin ate him apparently.
Hey it's been about a week since I last posted for my Aurelius/Monstrosity au. That would mainly be because of how I made up familial relationships and was embarrassed about it but here we go Aurelius/Monstrosity au PT. 6.
So oh boy time to get to it.
So I'm going to be talking about some ideas that I have for characters like Kay, Nix, Devin and Michael. So starting off with this post I'll be talking about Kay. So my idea for Kay in this au is that she was raised by Fox Spirits, rather than normal foxes. For more information I think that her biological parents would have been some kind of nobility. And her family's kingdom had fought and killed a god, at least the gods physical body since I don't think that gods can truly be destroyed at least in most cases. The god that it would have been was the god of transformation magic. But since I feel like FTO gods should have more domains like other gods that you see in mythology, I think this god would be more well known as the god of Animals and the "Father/Mother of Monsters" since I believe that this god should be the one that created many of the monsters in the magic realm.
So the story goes is that one of Kay's bio parents is on the battlefield when the god is killed, and the god curses the parent. So when Kay is born she ends up being a fox spirit, which is not good so the parents send her out into the forest where her fox (spirit) family finds her.
• p.s. her actual name isn't Kay, it's just an alias she uses.
Some other things about fox spirits in my au is that when they're born they look fairly human just with slit pupils, slightly pointed ears, larger canines, and a smaller tail. They are born with normal human hair colors, and their eyes are either red or yellow. Also for some reason I based them off of korean Fox spirits, so they have a fox pearl that they have in the back of their throat, in my au I make this their soul. I also make it the place where their mana is stored, I have it so that they can breath out puffs of mana at people then they can breath the mana back in and steal mana from other people (this is to replace the actual way Kumihos steal the life from humans, I don't know I just didn't want them French kissing to do it). They are born with either colorful hair streaks or hair ends. The color depends on what color their soul is (no it doesn't really mean anything I just think souls should be colorful). The color corresponds to markings they will develop when they get older, as well as their pearl and mana puffs. When they reach 100 years old I make them "fully mature" and they fully develop their fox features. Their hair turns white (not including the colorful parts like the streaks or ends), their sclera turns black, their tail gets larger, their nails turn black, and they get the first of their markings. Over time they get more tails (1 every 100 years until 900), more markings the back travels up their limbs from their nails, as well as their legs becoming more digitigrade-like (standing on their toes, like an actual fox).
So getting back to talking about Kay, well in my au she wasn't really kicked out it was more that she was told it was time for her to go out and try and blend in with humans, try and make a life for herself. So she does, and it goes well until the village she's staying in finds out she has magic, so she ends up being run out. She goes on like this for a while until she decides to live away from humans and sets up her den in a cave (she's around 200-300). So when she is around 300-400 she finds an injured Devil and takes him back to her den to heal him up, cause it's not like she doesn't like company it's just that she's usually not welcome where she tries to find it.
So for the Devil you might have guessed who it is but it's Nix. In my au when he was in the war with Allumos I had him not be a devil yet just a demon. So in my au demons can get the rank of devil by either being granted it by the demon king, or taking the title from another devil. To take the title they have to kill them. Which means that Devils will consistently be attacked by other demons. So why is Nix hurt well he just got the Devil title and he got ambushed by another demon trying to take it he defeated them but he was injured.
So I made Kay and Nix be friends. I just think it adds another layer of her inviting him to the guild, her being able to recognize him but him being unable to do the same since she's transformed.
So this is good for Kay, she made a friend she's less lonely and it gives her more confidence to try and find other friends for herself. So she eventually finds a group of nomadic Fox Spirits who tend to travel on the ocean and have artificial floating islands (in the ocean not sky islands). They also have good relations with the merfolk as well as other aquatic monsters and creatures.
But eventually she falls in love with another one of the fox spirits and she goes on to marry them. She even has twins with her spouse and she is finally so very happy. But, it wasn't meant to last. Since in this au many monsters or monstrosities are hunted down and killed either as trophies or misplaced anger and fear. So hunters come to their settlement killing many other fox spirits and even other sea creatures who try and help. So how is Kay supposed to feel when she comes back from visiting a friend with her twins to see the first place she was truly accepted and the people she had come to love and care for massacred, well she is quite reasonable in what she does she hunts down and kills every single last hunter she finds that was attacking her home. There is almost no one left alive by the time she is done, only those who were able to hide away when the initial attacks happened.
Warning: for talks about depression and suicidal ideation coming up you can skip this part for now and come back when I say it's safe
This takes a toll on Kay of course she lost her home, her spouse and so very many of her friends. So she goes away and she knows she doesn't have the energy to take care of her twins anymore so she hides them as humans and leaves them at the steps of what she assumes is a church in a coastal city. And she goes away to hide in a cave, where she lays down and grieves for everything she has lost. And she does nothing else not wanting to get up, not wanting to go out and eat, just hoping that Casathar will come and take her in her sleep. But she doesn't die, she knows she should have died by now but she hasn't. She realizes that she's not mortal anymore.
It's safe
So oh boy, the more sanitized summary is that Kay goes and leaves her twins on the steps of what she thinks is a church. Then she goes into a cave and stays there until she realizes, how am I not dead yet.
So if you were wondering how Michael and Devin fit into this you might have realized it. They are Kay's twins, and she thought that the Grimshade guild was a church cause it kinda looks like one. And that the curse that was placed on Kay's parents wasn't really a curse it just made it so that Kay is the reincarnation of the animal/transformation god.
So are you seeing what I meant when I said I really messed around with familial relations in this au.
Hey it's time for more of my weird au that a made years ago.
Monstrosity/Aurelius au PT.4
So I left off last time with Mitch(Viper) joining the wandering coins, in order to have better resources to search for Mario. Well it's time to talk about what was going on with Mario in that time.
So Mario, a mentally and physically 15(?) year old ends up left with Earthus then, Earthus just leaves while he was asleep. So Mario is just left alone with no one it turn to, to ask for help. So while Mario knows how to act around other people he doesn't understand humans, or capitalism (using money to buy things) really, since I think it would be neat if the dragon slayers used more of a barter system, or would just give what they have as extras to others in their clan, and they would get back things in return (not immediately after but eventually). Mario also doesn't know how to speak English, so this ends up causing some problems for him later.
So Mario wanders around for a while eventually making it to a human town, but people won't help him. Which for him is weird usually whenever dragon slayers see children, or younger dragon slayers their needs are immediately tended to since dragons and dragon slayers really love children and hold them in a high regard.
So Mario who is hungry (yes I am making it so that dragon slayers need to eat both their magic element and actually food) ends up stealing some food. This his start in criminal activity. Mostly just stealing in order to provide for himself, and even possibly other street kids he runs into. I think what makes him turn to a dark guild is that one of the other street kids dies on his watch, and he sees it as a way to survive, and possibly help other street kids. I think he'd be around 18-19 (mentally and physically) when he joins the dark guild.
I didn't actually have much planned for what he does when in the dark guild, but I do think he does continue to help street kids, I also want him to have a snake tattoo. I also had him go by a pseudonym based off his dragon name, it'd be quartz. Mario would be part of the criminal underworld for a while so he'd have a lot of connections, he may have even been a part of a few different dark guilds. So eventually he does get betrayed by his old dark guild and ends up getting captured and going to prison. At this time I just assumed that it would be some prison in a town near Atlantide, rather than the protectors' prison. So Mario's in prison and is high strung by what has happened, (let's also say that he's wearing magic suppressing cuffs) he's getting into fights, getting more aggressive.
This is where Mitch(Viper) comes back in. So Mitch while in the wandering coins, does a quest where he ends up turning someone in to the prison, the same one that Mario is in. Because dragon slayers can smell one another, Mitch goes over and ties to talk to Mario, tries to tell him that he'll get him out of prison and pay his bail money but Mario who is very stressed, and still feels abandoned by Mitch and Earthus, yells as him to leave, and to stay away from him. So Mitch ends up being led out of the prison in shock that Mario (in this au his son) hates him.
So that ends up being the catalyst for Mitch to switch guilds. If his son doesn't want him around well, he'll give him his space but he won't leave, not really. So he makes himself a new identity and joins Grimshade.
But back to Mario briefly since I'll cover more of what Mitch does in the next part. Mario continues to be agitated and upset, and ends up attacking other inmates to the point of, him being out in solitary confinement. He ends up being in solitary confinement for a while, and since younger me thought it was cool he goes feral. I had decided to use his magic and mental instability brought on my a myriade of things but especially the solitary confinement as the reason for him going feral. Biting and clawing at the guards and anyone who tries getting into his cell.
Now it's time for another Warning for descriptions of graphic injuries, you can skip past my descriptions and come back when it says it's safe
So because I'm gonna make it so that Mario is in solitary for a while like over a decade and some years, don't really have a solid idea of how long. But for that entire time he's wearing those magic suppression cuffs, which is you've ever heard of when animals are forced to wear chains for years the injuries will make sense. The skin underneath the cuffs would probably get damaged from constant movement and attempts to get the cuffs off, which would cause the skin to try and regrow, but it would try and regrow around the cuffs. Which would mean that when the cuffs are eventually removed when he joins Divinus magia there would be raw open wound where the cuffs used to be and they would need time to heal.
... it's safe
So a summary of what I talked about is that Mario would be in solitary confinement for over a decade, and in doing so they would have injuries where the magic cuffs were. As well as a stunting in his magic since he was wearing those for over a decade.
But in my au I had Mario join Divinus Magia not long after David. The reason they chose Mario is because Viper told the idea to Michael who told Ritchie and Brandon about it. So when Mario joins it takes him a while to recuperate from injuries, from the magic suppression, and from the mental break he suffered while in prison. All the while he has David looking after him, because I remember hearing that Mario used to share a house with David.
So Divinus magia just has this magically stunted feral dragon slayer, that they have to look after. He can't even speak properly and is just resulted in growling and some draconic. He also bites, and that's bad cause he can chew through rocks no problem, even worse he goes for the throat.
Also side note I had been shipping Mario and David in this au before I had dropped it since I hadn't learned yet that David was AroAce. Also took inspiration from what I was reading for FTO fanfics and there was a lot of Mario x David stuff at the time.
Ok time for some more of the au, so it's Aurelius/Monstrosity au PT. 9 time.
This is mostly a catch all for some other small things I have in the au including stuff in and after season 5.
I want Phoenix slayers to reincarnate but usually not member their previous lives. One of the street kids that Mario knew was Kit's past life.
I mo's actually really old(compared to a normal human) I made him in his 70s.
Yamitsu is a fox spirit who's magic is messed up and just absordes any magic around him especially by touch them by normal fox spirit means. He gets 2 tails.
Sabrina has a small tail, since she's only half fox spirit.
I don't exactly know if I want Patrick O'Connor to remember that he's Aurelius or not, I'm going with yes though because of Allumos.
Sibling reunion with Allumos, Patrick O'Connor and Flurry.
Mitch knew Phil when he was in the Wandering Coins, Phil's the old man that stays with La Carnival. It would be funny if he addresses 'Viper' as Mitch or 'Doctor' and talks about being in the Wandering Coins, and Mitch does that too, he just goes along with it cause like, yeah he knew Phil, doesn't know how he recognized him in his disguise but oh well. I just imagine it confuses anyone not in the know. (If anyone doesn't know he calls the members of La Carnival by his old guild mates names)
So I imagine that eventually Mario and Mitch make up, and Mitch has to tell him that he adopted Devin and Michael. Like it's an emotional event and everything because he stayed behind and tried to look out for him. Maybe it gets out that he was the one to recommend that Mario is put into Divinus Magia.
• Damn I just realized they're the three Ms
Mitch goes on and emotionally adopts the other dragons slayers, not Mori though he doesn't want to be adopted. And also not Seek because he doesn't know if Colin and Seek like each other romantically or not. He still does fight Bryan, and Blake btw no going easy on them that's not fair, the children need to win their fights fair and square.
Kayper happens because yay, then Kay and Mitch have to tell each other that their not human, which is fun because Mitch is the first person that Kay has tolled that to. She also has to admit that Devin and Michael are her children, which will cause some drama. But is also funny cause then he tells Kay that he adopted them both, and Kay's just glad they had a good parent.
Once post season 5, Kay could talk to Jakey about it after he has all the stuff with his family sorted, and she can be emotional support for him being the new guild leader. But also it would be kinda funny cause she's kinda like the step-mom to Jakey's ex.
Also Kay tells Lucas she was friends with his Moms. Cue Kay and Galarin having a girl night
Davis has to deal with many new siblings, and the little dragon siblings can be friends with Mario's half brother Teras.
Also I think Bryan should teach Damien to be a fire dragon slayer, just because I think it would be cool.
Now it's time to talk about some of the au aspects that I made as a sort of fix-it.
Idea one I had is that when Devil slayers die they respawn in the demon world (it's the nether) as demons. So yay Revin can continue on, also step dad Devin.
Another thing I did is that Ritchie and Flurry get to have revenge on Aberham for hurting their son. Ps he gets eaten by the demons.
Also Patrick O'Connor uses it as a chance to help both of his siblings revenge with flurry and getting Allumos back. He'll get his own body later, maybe with the help of Devin and Kay.
Also I made it so that Seek doesn't die I had Mitch come back in time to save him, but he gets a lot on spine damage so he can't really walk, without either braces (back, legs and arm crutches) or a wheelchair. He's also in a coma for a while.
Michael becomes one with Kassathar and he gets his family back.
Also dear lord this family tree is insane, it feels like everyone is related through adoption.
Here's what's left everyone, @wooffloofstudios @leaf-in-a-flower-garden @sleepyburito @missingfileerror @foggythefandomgremlin
Oh boy time for More of my old au that will likely get rewritten later its Aurelius/Monstrosity au PT. 8
Now we're going back to focusing on Mitch, who is now going by Viper and what goes on with him while he's in Grimshade. And of course talking about Devin and Michael.
So when Mitch joins Grimshade, Devin and Michael are in the guild and are relatively young I can't remember if I decided on a timeline of when he joins, but I remember when I first made this au I originally had him join when Devin and Michael were around 6-ish maybe, I'm not quite sure on the age. But I imagine that Mitch had been a fairly high up member in the wandering coins, and reaper would have tried to recommend him, but the purpose of the new title is a fresh start so he can watch over Mario from a far. So he'd be going into this new guild with a new identity, appearance, name and attitude. He'd play up his more angry gruff attitude, he was already hurt so it wasn't hard to imitate the attitude, he mostly channeled his younger self of when he was just found by Aurelius.
Which also means that he is starting at C rank once more until he can prove he can do better missions. So to members of Grimshade they see they pissed of guy with poison magic trying to join their guild and they think, wow this guy probably isn't even competent, he probably just want to join the mercenary guild, cause he thinks his magic will give him an advantage. So Grimshade looks at 'Viper' and don't really take him seriously, but then here he comes in and is infact competent. They probably have a high ranking member take him out to do a quest, it can be a hit on someone. They assume that he'll mess it up, and the higher rank guild memeber will have to step in and finish the job. But that's not what happens, what happens is that 'Viper' pulls out a scythe -and wow that's not cocky at all, especially since in Grimshade it's the guild leader who use scythes- he sneaks up to his target probably climbing around and actually being very stealthy, then he gets right up to his target and swings his scythe-
Also warning: for graphic descriptions of injuries and child neglect/abuse, you can skip the next part and come back when it says it's safe.
- and when he swings it's right across their neck, it's wasn't a strong hit but it was swift and cut through their jugular and their wind pipe making them choke on their own blood. 'Viper' catches them before they fall and bites into the body releasing an acid that eats away at the targets flesh, then returns to the older guild member. The older guild member is just now realizing that they very much got the wrong read on him and that he really shouldn't be underestimated, because he just took down a target without them even noting him and his the evidence as well. While Mitch on the other hand comes back with a while rubbing the back of his neck and says "maybe that was a little over kill". So they return and Mitch is placed at B rank for now, to make sure that one time wasn't just a fluke or him showing off.
Now onto where Devin and Michael fit into this. I'd imagine that the members of Grimshade didn't really know how to take care of children. Some members probably not even liking them thinking that they're just some stupid kids that are getting in the way. Sure the guild master tried to raise them but he was still raising them to take over the guild eventually. What I'm trying to gat at is that they basically had to take care of themselves. They wouldn't really even look to the guild leader for help if they would actually need it, they would just do things themselves. Like if they needed food, or if they were injured. Heck there's a bar inside of Grimshade it wouldn't be surprising if a member may have gotten drunk and hit one of them.
So when Mitch comes back to the guild, he sees a young Devin running around a sneaking around, he asks another member what a kid is doing in Grimshade. And well he asked a drink member of the guild so they're gonna be loose lipped about their feelings on Devin and Michael, so they answer that "Oh that's just one of the strays that the guild master kept", eventually he gets the drunk member to say more and learns that they just live in the guild and that there's two of them, but for the past few days it's only been the one, and that the one they do see keeps on taking things and running off. So Mitch is worried because dragon slayer like kids and hold them in high regard. He also makes note to deal with the other more problematic members later.
So Mitch sneaks off after Devin, trying to follow his scent, before her eventually smells sickness, specifically he smells something infected. So that worries him even more. But Devin sees that he's been followed and tries to threaten Mitch with a knife to keep him away from Michael, but Mitch is patient and also just thinks that the 6ish year old threatening him with a knife is adorable, so he sits down and waits, while trying to show Devin he means no harm, eventually Devin lowers his knife and asks Mitch what he wants, and Mitch just says, "To help" and continue on to say that he can smell an infected injury and that he would be able to help that he's a doctor. But Devin doesn't think a doctor would join a guild where you kill people, but eventually he relents cause he is desperate.
So he takes Mitch to where Michael is hidden away, and Michael is not doing very well. He is very feverish, pale (well he is already pale but you know), and breathing heavily. So Mitch asks Devin where Michael is hurt and when Mitch sees the wound he hisses because it is very bad, heavily infected like he smelled before but it probably wouldn't have even gotten infected if it had been treated properly. And since it hadn't Michael almost got sepsis, and if you don't know it's when the blood turns toxic. So Mitch treats and cleans the wound before dressing it in clean bandages. Then promises to be back with some food for the two of them.
It's safe
Sorry that was a longer one I got into a groove all while wanting to fit both warnings in the same space. So I'm gonna summarize what I wrote in there.
So basically 'Viper' did a very good job taking out the target, he didn't even get noticed. So the overseer realized that they very probably underestimating him and had an oh shit moment all while Mitch is just sheepish that he overdid it. So they head back to the guild. He is given b rank so they can watch over him still. Where Mitch sees Devin sneaking around. So Mitch tricks a drunk guild member into telling him about the child he saw and the drunk member tells him.
So to summarize the living situation of Devin and Michael in the guild it's that they are mainly self sufficient out of necessity. Since the guild leader can't always look after them, nor does the guild leader quite know how to do so. Also the other guild members don't exactly like the two either.
So Mitch follows after Devin, and smells an infected wound. Devin threaten him with a knife Mitch think it's adorable and waits, and talks to Devin to convince him to help. He does, he treats Michaels infected wound while he is feverish from the infection. Then promises to be back with food for the two. And that's it for the summary
So Mitch does as he promised and goes to his house on the mainland and cooks up some soup for the two of them, then he brings it over in a thermos or some other container. When he gets back to the guild he sneaks over to where the two are hidden and gives Devin a bowl of soup while he spoon feeds broth to Michael cause he is still very sick. Then he continues to provide for the two and treat Michael's injury. All the while he listens in to see who does and doesn't like the two kids. Eventually when Michael gets better, Mitch has to convince him that he's trustworthy but with Devin's help it works. Then Mitch decides to go to the guild leader and tell him to not let it happen again, and the guild leader is suprised because that's not a warning that's a threat. Mitch keeps up his act around the other guild members but doesn't do that around Devin and Michael. So if anyone ever treats the two badly they just run over to Mitch and Mitch protects them and take them away to either his house or their hiding spot. And well, those that don't treat Devin and Michael well start disappearing. It's a silent rule amongst Grimshade not to mess with the two after that.
Eventually the Guild master goes up to Mitch and asks him if he's trying to get himself up in the guild ranks, because the guild master eventually figured out that the one disappearing the other members was 'Viper' so 'Viper' tells him that he doesn't care what rank he is in the guild and to not worry since he doesn't want to be the guild master or second in command. All he cares about is looking after the two kids after all, and the guild master uses that to sort of reel in 'Viper'. So he basically adopts Devin and Michael and raises them. And if when the guild master suggest that the two might to see who the next guild master will be let's just say that he disappears too.
Doesn't stop the competition from happening and Michael from winning. So while Michael celebrates winning, Mitch tries to go after 'Eden' but by then he has already left. Mitch tries to go out and look for him but comes up with nothing so he goes back and tells Michael. Then years pass Michael gets married, and has Sabrina, then they disappear too. All the while Mitch is a silent support to Micheal.
That brings us up to the time of season 4. Eventually they hear rumors of a Garden of Genesis and well, if that doesn't sound like something 'Eden' would come up with they don't know what it will be. So Mitch goes and infiltrates the dark alliance meetings as Michaels ears and eyes on the inside. But also because Mitch wants to see one of his kids again. And oh how happy he is to see him, and to know that he is alright. Mitch pulls Eden aside and tells him as much, even hugging him, and Eden is suprised to know that he missed him that he didn't want the competition in the first place. But that doesn't change Eden's ambition he still wants to kill Michael, but he doesn't have the same hatred towards Mitch the man that raised him, that could have been his father. So he makes a choice he decides a way to 'keep' him, use the story that he's telling the alliance and change his memories, keep Mitch on his side make him turn on Michael.
So when Future Jakey shows him the 'past' it's Eden who is changing his memory, and the act he put on is now who he actually is his memories of his time with Aurelius are locked away and all he rembers is his village getting destroyed. So when he goes and confronts Michael for lying to him about the Diabolus twins killing his village, to say that Michael is confused and concerned is an understatement. But with how much his memory was changed it starts to chip away and he starts to member things over time. Which is why he turns on the alliance and kills the Diabolus twins from the magic realm (at least he kills Ritchie, he isn't the one to kill Brandon). Then when Grimshade confronts him he sees a man who makes something itch in the back of his head, because of his voice, the accent he hasn't heard in 50ish years, the same face, white hair and he smells like a dragon. The man in front of him reminds him of the Dragon who took him in who helped him, who was a parent to him. Patrick O'Connor had already reminded him too much of Aurelius even though he could no longer remember, but with Allumos controlling his body it made him even more confused. It gave Bren the time to blind him, while Colin had defended him saying that they shouldn't kill him that it wasn't his fault.
Colin who 'Viper' had called runt, because he was malnourished. Who 'Viper' remembered from the war, but still have him a chance despite that. Because it wasn't his fault, he had been possesed. Colin saw it too much like his own situation, when Grimshade had found him. And Michael agreed because he knows that the alliance had done something to him that he wasn't thinking clearly. So Viper is arrested and sent to the Protectors' jail, when Michael comes to him and asks him what happened, and Viper tells him that they messed with his memories made him think the Divinus twins had killed his village, that everything after that was a blur. That the only reason he had stopped in his rampage long enough was because Allumos was familiar. This hurts Michael so much that man that raised him doesn't remember him anymore, that while he got Devin back he lost his father mentor in the process, he can't even tell Viper about Devin because he won't remember. Knowing this he gives Jasper to Viper to act as his eyes, and takes him out of the protectors jail. This is when Allumos decides to take Viper back with him to where Patrick O'Connor lives.
Patrick O'Connor doesn't know why he is so happy that Allumos and Viper have come home with him, he doesn't know that he finally has his familyback, all in one place.
Over time 'Viper' regains his memories while staying with Allumos and the O'Connors, so by the time he gets back in season 5 Mitch remembers who he is again. His memories are still a little messed up but it's mostly small things.
Hey everyone eat up I have more angst for you guys,
Hey it's Aurelius/Monstrosity au PT.5 time. I'm going to be covering a slightly separate plot point with different characters this time, since I've been talking a lot about Viper and Mario in this au, or it seems like I have.
Going back to focusing on Patrick O'Connor. And those he's connected to, like the clown.
Brief recap Patrick O'Connor is the reincarnation of Allumos' brother, who is the Dragon god, and his wife is reincarnated with him too, so Rachel is his wife in both lives.
So my idea for Patrick O'Connor in this au is that he came from a village with a lot of superstitions surrounding the fae. And those suspected of being changelings would be 'sent back' to the fae realm. The idea is that they don't want the 'evil' fae in their village, so they send them back to where they come from. It's pretty common for humans to get mistaken for changelings and to be sent to the fae realm.
Changelings in my au are fae infants who are swapped with human infants. The changelings have no idea that they are actually changelings. The changelings take on the form of the human child, but over time their disguises sort of break down. They get brighter more colorful hair, their eyes get brighter, and their pupils sort of disappear, teeth and nails get slightly sharper too. But unless they purposefully remove their natural glamour they still can pass as humans.
But back to Patrick O'Connor, that's not his true name; which I will explain later. He was born into a village with superstitions, and I made him the oldest of four children. I made him have black hair and light brown eyes when he was younger. Second child his brother would have black hair and mismatch brown and blue eyes, third child another brother would have light brown/dirty blonde hair with light brown eyes, then the youngest his sister would have brown hair with blue eyes. He'd have a mom and a dad, his dad would be the town carpenter. He'd be 10 years older than his sister. He would also often look after his younger siblings when his mom is busy.
Now time for some of the story so Patrick O'Connor, is looking after his youngest sister but she is actually very sick and his family don't think she's going to make it, so he's just holding his baby sister watching her get worse and worse, until eventually he decides to go out and take a walk in the woods with her. He doesn't know why exactly, he just needed to get out. Until eventually he stumbles upon a fae, and the fae gives him an offer. Give his sickly human sister to the fae and she'll get better under the fae's care. And in return he'll get a healthy changeling as sibling, no one will be able to tell the difference, no one will be able to tell they've been switched. So he agrees, his sister will survive, and he's willing to look after a changeling in her place. He eventually grows to see her as his baby sister rather than just the changeling in her place.
This means that he's making sure that any signs that she's a fae will be covered up and he will take the blame. He's already partially doing that for his brother with mismatched eyes, since the village thinks that his brother's eyes are weird. So he's protecting his two siblings from any claims that others make of them being changelings. It's especially difficult with his sister who is showing signs of using plant magic.
It comes to a head 6 years later at the spring equinox when the adults of the village come together and decide if there are any changelings among them. They really only suspect children anyone 16 years old or younger. They decide that Patrick O'Connor has been too suspicious and they decide to 'send him back' to the fae realm. He doesn't know this though and so he goes out with his sister to look for some early spring flowers and she makes him a flower crown. It's right after that they take him away to prepare him to be sent to the fae realm.
Warning for mentions of injury, and cultish behavior(sort of I think it sounds kinda cultish) ahead, you can skip over the following part and come back when it says: it's safe
So right now I'm going to explain what they do for the whole sending the changelings back thing they do on the spring equinox. So the one in charge of the whole ordeal is an old priest or old church man in general, but the normal kinda Catholic bullshit is cranked up because of the fae paranoia, which is real unlike the irl satanic panic and the witch trials.
So what I had imagined when I was younger mind you is that the accused is brought before the priest and the priest tries to make them confess until eventually they accused has a brand but onto their back, the branding iron is literally made out of iron, it's supposed to be symbolic because fae get burned by iron. After their branding the accused they are bound in iron chains. Then they get brought to the center on the town and tied to a large wooden pole, where the villagers all gather and look at the accused. His little sister is confused and crying because she doesn't understand what is going on, so she's calling out to him but she's being pulled back. Then when the sun sets is when he is pulled into the fae realm by a bunch of vines, and all that is left behind is the iron chains and the splinters of the poll he was tied to. So when he is finally in the fae realm he is disoriented and confused, because humans aren't supposed to be there over time he begins to lose more and more of his memories and in a desperate attempt to at least remember his name he carves it into his forearm.
... It's safe
So basically they perform a ritual, while the border between the magic realm and fae realm is weakened. Patrick O'Connor is pulled through to the fae realm by a bunch of vines and he ends up staying there for in the magic realm is 10 years but in the fae realm is more like 3 because the fae realm doesn't exactly make sense and time works differently. He forgets both himself and everything he once knew. He tries his best to remember and to keep his wits about himself keeping what little scraps of himself remain, his body changes too his hair begins to turn purple as the black is overpowered in streaks, it's not uncommon for humans who become fae to have their hair change color, most often it's white. It's slow at first, he still remembers that he used to be human but anything before the ritual is almost non-existent. Including any left over memories from his past life, but he does feel drawn to people like for example Rachel who in a past life was his wife but they've both been reincarnated now. By the time they meet Patrick O'Connor has almost fully become a changeling (but in reverse human -> fae), he has stubbornly kept his name, and in that time has learned his magic. He doesn't know how long it's been but the two fall in love and get married only then do they exchange names. They even move to the magic realm which is where they have their daughters too.
So you may be wondering how flurry plays into all of this well, I decided to make her Patrick O'Connor's sister. She runs away because over time her hair begins to change into green in streaks, and she doesn't want to be sent to the fae realm so she runs away and eventually joins Ritchie and Brandon's old dark guild (I think it's called Grey skull). And in my au the reason she doesn't outright go after Biblico for taking Oakley is because fae follow weird rules and somehow she can't go after him because it while really unfair was a trade. Oakley for the dice, doesn't mean that the trade doesn't piss her off it's just that she can't break it, she also weaker than Biblico so she wouldn't be able to fight him. Then she eventually gets a job working at the same place as Patrick O'Connor, and neither of them can recognize the other, for flurry her brother should be 10 years older than her not the same age, besides it has been around 13 years since he was taken, and his hair was black. While Patrick O'Connor doesn't remember his old family but she does seem familiar beside it doesn't hurt to help out a fellow changeling.
I do kinda take some elements from Patrick O'Connor's au past and make it part of his rewrite selfs past.
I made some more food for you guys sorry it took a while :)
Aurelius/Monstrosity Au PT. 3, this is the section that will cover some of the reason I kinda dropped the au for a bit.
Continuing on from before with Mitch(Viper). Since like I said earlier that I took inspiration from some dragon fanfics off Wattpad there will be found family elements between the dragon slayers. More specifically I originally made Viper an older brother figure but it later evolved into a father figure roll for them.
It's time to introduce Mario into the Au. So in this I have Mitch be the one to find Mario in the desert(like in canon I think), in a broken carriage that was raided by bandits with his dead parents. I like to think that Mario isn't the name he was originally given, but it's what Mitch decided his human name should be.
•In this au I have the characters have human names and another name ie, dragon, demon, spirit ect.
• I also just mess with the gender identity of characters in this au, it's like yeah gender ambiguity is a dragon thing, there is no biological sex differences for them. Or the shapeshifters are more fluid with their genders, and presentation.
But back on topic, Mitch finds him, and amongst some dragons it's known that Earthus is looking for a student. So Aurelius suggest Mitch let Earthus train him. So Mario in this au grows up with Earthus as his mom, and Mitch as his dad (like I said earlier in the post it was originally older brother but he, I changed my mind). This means he grows up learning the dragon language, mage sign, and written Spanish, and English. Since Mitch can't speak human languages anymore.
I'd like to think in this au that dragon slayers are fairly common, and form their own communities with one another, these communities would be called clans. So Mario in this au would actually be properly socialized. Mario gets raised like this for a while before there are tensions building eventually turning into a civil war between dragons, that in season 5 is the war we see in Dragones.
Because of Mitch's high rank and medical knowledge, he is pulled into the conflict along with Aurelius. Dragon slayers don't necessarily fight on the side protecting humans, cause they aren't exactly humans anymore and are fighting on whatever side their dragon parents fight on, in their eyes they'll become dragons anyway why hold onto humans.
So Mitch entrusts Earthus with looking after Mario, who is both mentally and physically 14 at the time. But as we all know Earthus leaves Mario to fight in the war, Mitch doesn't know this until he sees Earthus fighting in the war. He yells at her and is very understandably upset, so they end up bitter towards one another Mitch moreso than Earthus.
Now it's time to introduce Colin into the au. So he finds the lachrima containing Zata and gets possessed by him (Colin's probably 13 at this point). Zata destroys Colin's village, and eventually he joins the dragon civil war, on the anti human side. And since I previously mentioned he took down 4 dragon slayers on his own (while getting captured) he makes a difference in the war.
The war actually ends up destroying a lot of the dragon slayer population, either by then turning into dragons by magic overuse (which isn't exactly a pretty process), or they are just outright killed. This also decimates the dragon population in the, I'm going to call it magic realm but just know that's just what I'm calling the world Atlantide is in for now.
So with the combined power of Zata and the 'false' dragon god (who at the time is a slayer), and all the other dragons and slayers on the anti human side, they eventually kill Aurelius and Rachel(Past life). With the 'false' dragon god eating him to gain his powers.
• I actually made Bri a descendant of Aurelius and Rachel so that is why she's called the dragon queen.
Mitch hearing of this storms out onto the field and actually uses his magic, despite the pain. Most of the individuals in the war forgot that he actually was train by Aurelius so he's very strong, and it's hard to get past toxic clouds, and acids. So he does quite a number on them.
This event turns him into a dragon and as a dragon he is much more powerful. This also is what pushes the anti human side of the war back to Dragones, and out of the magic world.
• Important side note Mitch does know who Zata is, and has seen him on the Battlefield
After this Mitch is angry, grieving and quite bitter and spends the next few years trying to figure out how to transform into a human, while also trying to find Mario. Eventually he does figure out how to turn into a human again around 40 years before the story starts in season 5. Mitch decides to take go and join a guild think it will be his best chance to find leads on where Mario is. The guild he joins is the wandering coins, his pseudonym in wandering coins is 'The Doctor'. The form he uses is far less scared up and instead looks like large inky patches over his right side. He still uses his long black hair here and covers the lower portion of his mouth.
I had to copy this over from my other blog cause I had started writing and saved the draft on the wrong blog 😞.
