after getting over what felt like the longest flu ever, mari decided she needed to get out of the house because otherwise she felt she might melt away in the home she shared with one of her best friends. after getting dressed in some leggings and a basic white tee the brunette headed out, driving to the closest starbucks and sighing when she pulled up and noticed the paparazzi was already there, figuring someone else they liked to obsess over was already inside. she hopped out with her headphones in to ignore any outside noise. the place was crowded, but nonetheless, mari still stood in the line awaiting her turn. she enjoyed the little bit of normalcy she was able to steal sometimes for a couple minutes. the brunette tucked her natural curls behind her ear before looking up when a fan approached her, taking a headphone out to chat and take a picture with them. the last thing she expected to see across the restaurant was her ex-girlfriend. it had been exactly four months since rory left her, and it felt like an arrow through the chest when aurelia’s eyes met her own. she excused herself and immediately walked out of the starbucks and back into her car, sitting in the suv with no idea what to do or how to respond. when rory left, it seemed like she was leaving for good. mariana didn’t expect to spot her back in new york so soon, or at all.

if she was honest, she didn’t expect rory to agree to rooming with her just because of how they left things the last time they saw each other. there was a lot of unsaid things on mari’s end & some unanswered questions from both ends. despite all of this though, rory was one of her best friends & probably always would be. she knew mari better than anyone, so it was a bit of a safety blanket, to have rory around. but she hoped they would have fun, not have to talk about anything serious, at least not yet. they didn’t sit together on the plane, so mari made her way up to the room by herself, but there was soon a smile along her lips when she opened the door to find rory already getting settled in. ‘ hey you, ’ she greeted her while dropping her bag on the bed and sitting on the edge of it. ‘ that flight makes me feel like i just went through war, ’ mari sighed softly. ‘ so i was promised the special rory fiji tour, can i still take you up on it ? ’

after exchanging some texts with rory, mari ultimately decided to spend the night at the girl’s place per her invitation. she needed a distraction of any kind, and the other girl was always good at taking mariana’s mind off things. the girl threw on a quick pair of leggings and a bralette, she couldn’t be bothered to do anything to her face or hair, knowing she didn’t need to with rory - who was probably the only person in new york she found to be the least judgemental. it was like with everyone else, there were certain expectations, but with rory, there were none, and it was just amazing. once she arrived at rory’s, she knocked on the door and leaned against the door frame as she waited for the other girl to answer. once she did, mari smiled softly. “hey.. thanks for letting me come over. it’s hard to sleep by myself, in that house.. i dunno,” she shrugged, explaining as she entered. / @aurelivs

            ❛    𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐞    𝐦𝐲    𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭    𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝    𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝    to  be  a  dick  ,    ❜    he  says  as  he  drops  down  next  to  aurelia  ,  the  warm  ,  oceanic  breeze  brushing  his  skin  .  he  didn’t  really  realise  it’d  be  this  peaceful  here    ;    it  makes  it  a  lot  easier  to  clear  his  thoughts  ,  but  sometimes  he  needs  a    distraction    from  them  .  which  brings  him  here  ,  pulling  out  a  baggy  that’s  half - full  of  white  powder    &    looking  around  as  he  shows  it  to  the  girl  .    ❛    i    didn’t    bring  a  lot  with  me  .  my  dealer’s  out  of  the  city  until  april  so  you  owe  me  .    ❜    ╱    @aurelivs.
