I tried to write as much as I could before I lost motivation and I'm surprised I actually managed to finish this!

“Are you sure the sunny is safe enough for him?”
Riya sighed and smiled at Aurora, shaking her head playfully at the princess “I promise nothing will happen to bandit while he's with us Rory.”
Aurora took a deep breath and smiled at riya “as long as he's safe… thank you again ri' I know this was such short notice but…”
Aurora turned looking towards the battleship docked not far from the sunny “I'd rather he not come with me to germa and he remembers you so…”
“I know Rory… don't worry, now go, you have a fiance to pester”

Riya Coming back to the sunny with a raccoon literally on her shoulders was not something the crew anticipated. Though Robin could not complain, the moment the woman had stepped on board with the little guy Robin's arms had practically sprouted from riya's back- oh how she hated that feeling.
The dark haired woman smiled as she took the raccoon from riya.
Humming to herself about how cute he was.
Sanji and zoro on the other hand didn't seemed to pleased at the new addition to the crew
“Oi! Fins! Why'd you bring a rodent on board?”
“He's not a rodent grassface-”
Sanji snickered behind Zoro at riya's comment. Quickly pretending to not be paying attention as the bulkier man glared back at him-
“His name is bandit, he's Aurora's pet that she's left with me for awhile since we'll be going around the surrounding islands for the next week while she's on germa with yonji…”
Sanji groaned at this “I still don't see what that lovely woman sees in my blockhead of a…. Brother…”
Riya shook her head as Sanji came up beside her, reaching up she ran her fingers through his hair and hummed to herself in content as he practically melted against her
“Neither do I, but they love each other… anyway she doesn't want him on germa with her so-”
“Oh! A dog!”
“luffy!” There was a loud fuss from the kitchen as Luffy flung himself off the upper railing. Nami quickly following him out of the room
“luffy give me back my fruit t- is that a raccoon?”
“His name's bandit-”
“It's still a raccoon fins. I don't what to tell you- things a rodent regardless-”
Riya sighed, annoyance festering under her skin. She really wondered why she didn't stay on law's crew sometimes
For the first day bandit was mostly introduced person to person;
Robin spent her time with him on her lap, content to be petted but occasionally nipping at her various hands if she stopped for too long.
Zoro didn't want him, but eventually caved when Naomi brought him up to the crows nest, letting him sit along the edge as he watched the ship below.
He wouldn't say it out loud but he felt a part of him panic every time the raccoon shifted. Convinced he might fall despite his nimble and somewhat agile nature.
Luffy asked if he was food only to pout once riya said he wasn't, rose got a good kicker out of that one laughing to herself as Luffy picked the creature up and examined it “but why's he food shaped then?”
“Luffy he's just fat-”
“Rose! Don't fat shame him!” Luffy exasperated.
Riya was so done with this man…..
Nami didn't do much once she was given bandit. Considering both riya and nami's area's kind of intermingled bandit often decided to lay down near riya while she was tending to her plants, occasionally getting up to bug nami and lay over top of her maps.
The little rascal wanted attention clearly.
Both sanji and usopp denied any chance to be near bandit as Sanji was cooking and usopp was… scared of the little guy.
Franky too was far too busy but he did gladly give bandit multiple pets once he left his workshop for a cola recharge.
Last was chopper. The poor guy seemed startled when riya came in to introduce them to each other.
Intrigued, bandit hopped off of riya's should and sat right in front of chopper's chair.
And they just… stared at each other before bandit jumped on top of his desk and simply laid down.
That was weird?
Maybe chopper wasn't sure how to feel about an actual racoon on board after years of being called one himself?
The next day was more relaxed. Uneventful but still fun none the less.
The ship had docked at one of the surrounding islands in Aurora's kingdom. Riya offered to stay back on the ship to look after bandit. Everyone else seemed more then happy with this decision as it left the others sometimes to unwind after being cramped on the ship.
Riya watch them leave, petting bandit as he sat along the rails beside her
“You really love attention don't you? Your more cat then you are racoon with the way you act bud-”
Bandit stared at her and she was aware he seemed annoyed.
She thought it was hilarious
“Alright, alright I'm sorry. Come on I'll get you a snack as an apology”
Bandit didn't wait to be shown to the kitchen, having been there last night during dinner it was clear he remembered which door was which as he sat beside the kitchen door and stared at her. Almost with an excited and hungry twinkle in his eye
She shook her head and opened the door. Watching as bandit walked in and hopped on top of one of the stools by the counter.
Walking to the fridge and opening it, riya fished out her leftovers from last night. The ones she promised Sanji she would eat. Which she knew she wouldn't but atleast they wouldn't be wasted.
Setting the plate on the ground for bandit she went about fixing a bowl of water for him as well, soon setting that down beside the plate
“There you go bud, enjoy”
She hummed. Smiling as bandit practically devoured the food.
……….
She sat back against the railing of the sunny. Bandit curled in her lap napping as she read.
The others would be back soon so a little extra down time before everyone came back felt perfect.
“Hey riya!”
She turned, looking down from the sunny she saw her captain.
“I found a cat! Do you think bandit will like it?”
“Luffy don't bring a cat on board you don't know where it's been-”
She sighed as he pouted.
“He's gonna bring the cat on regardless, just let it happen” Robin snickered as she walked past Luffy. Shaking her head.
Riya sighed again and carefully stood up, setting her book down in the process to be able to pick bandit up.
Jumping back slightly as she turned and saw Luffy arms outstretched. Holding the stray cat out to her
Before she could react the cat hissed at bandit and she quickly moved back
“Nope.” She turned and walked away, she wasn't going to let some feral cat hurt her friends pet after she promised he wouldn't get hurt.
“Luffy it's clear the cat doesn't want you- it was hissing the entire way up here”
“Awww….” Luffy sighed and set the small creature down at sanji's word before yelled in pain as Sanji kicked him
“Besides! It almost hurt riya!”
“I'm fine San! don't worry” she smiled as she let bandit down. Walking back over to the railing.
Maybe looking after bandit would be a bit more difficult considering she wouldn't be able to leave the sunny unless someone else looked after him.
“Here love, I found a few things you mentioned needing before” riya perked up as Sanji handed her a bag, smiling at the blonde. She thanked him with a kiss
The next day Zoro stayed behind. Begrudgingly offering to look after bandit. Riya was grateful but she worried. With Zoro still getting lost even on the sunny she was certain he'd lose bandit.
And right she was, walking back on board later that day riya found Zoro scanning the entire open area of the ship.
“Tell me you didn't lose him?!”
Zoro tensed and turned to her “no! He was beside me not but a minute ago!”
“You idiot!” Riya huffed glaring at her best friend “your the worst”
Walking past him she made her way through each room in the ship. Panicking more and more when she couldn't find him. Oh Aurora was going to kill her.
And by the time everyone else has made it back to the ship she was certain he had gotten of the ship somehow
“aurorua?”
“What chopper?”
She looked down at the rain deer before feeling relief wash over her
“He was on one of the hammocks in the boys dorms.”
“i didn't even think to check there- thank you”
She grabbed the raccoon from him before reaching down to pat choppers head.
He did that silly wiggle as he laughed. Muttering about not needing to thank him.
The last two days remained uneventful and she was beyond pleased at that fact. She didn't know if she could handle another scare like before.
Walking into her room with a plate and bowl in hand she found Robin once again holding bandit “you know I'm starting to think you not going to give him back once Aurora comes for him today”
“I've half a mind to keep him.”
Riya laughed and set the plate and bowl down by the door. Bandit looked down at the food before he hopped down from Robin's bed. Going over to eat and drink as if he was starving
“He is cute but… Aurora would killed me if we kept him. After all she's had him since she was 15”
“That's pretty long given how short a raccoon's life span is”
Riya shook her head. “He was a mess when she found him. According to her he was sick and dirty. She's lucky her father even let her keep him”
There was a knock on the door. Shortly after Aurora stepped in, bandit quickly forgot about the food on the floor and reached up. Planting his front paws on her leg
The princess bent down picked him up. Giving him a small kiss on the forehead
“Ah now I see. He really is like a cat…”
“I told you!”
Riya and Robin laughed as Aurora shook her head “thank you by the way. I know it was such short notice and I'm sure he's probably driven you crazy but I'd rather he have been with someone I know”
“Don't worry Rory I know”
“I'll make sure you crew gets some extra supplies as repayment. And I'll see you all later”
Riya followed Rory out of the girls dorm. Waving to her from top the ship once she had left. Smiling as both Luffy and chopper waved as well.
Yeah the crew was going to miss the little guy surely but at least he was back where he belonged
I drew something with my oc and yonji for @azuzur 'd pkm au, i just had to, it was too cute of an idea not to, im really happy with how it turned out tbh i think this is adorable
