My other ‘job’ is as a landscape architect and when I was studying many years ago I had to do ‘practical’ work experience and I chose to do it in Alice Springs at be desert park. It was my ‘summer job’ during February and oh my it was hot. We started at 6 am and finished at 3 to avoid the heat. I lived in a house within the park shared with 2 other staff members. It was an amazing experience to work alongside the landscape/ botany departments and also spend some time with the zoology teams. The people I worked with were amazing and I owe them a great deal of gratitude. Although I wasn’t making art back then I was already being inspired by everything nature has to offer. So glad I found all these photos I thought I had lost. Gratitude 🙏.
