Now this is the life. This is my paradise.
This is how I see the Australian white ibis.
Just a bird enjoying the Queensland sun and sea.
Look how close I am to this ibis?
It’s so cool to be so close and not have worried the animal. Would have been such a great photo if a) the photographer was on the other side and had the passage in the background, b) the photographer was on the other side of the ibis so her shadow wasn’t ruining the photo and c) if there was a different photographer.
Look at that expert manoeuvring of the beak to get the tasty treats. No garbage for dinner tonight. Note to self - videos at the beach on a windy day doesn’t make for a great soundtrack.
Deliberate excursion to the passage to obtain ibis photos. I couldn’t get any closer to this noble ibis because there’s actually quite a bit of water between us. That and I would have scared it off.
