In the filming of the Captain Thunderbolt’s story we visited Cockatoo island. Located in Sydney Harbour the island was used as a prison between 1839 and 1869, a significant location in Thunderbolts story. Many of the original buildings can still be seen and evidence of the harsh life endured by the prisoners and guards that watched over them.
