For context, I am a Filipino. Tensions are rising between my country, the Philippines, and China, because China's coast guard continues to enroach on our waters.

It's a long political affair, but long story short, I am afraid war is coming.

And if it comes, will I survive to write my fic?

Day 18 of isolation

The last week has been utter chaos. The Matron of the house went on a cleaning spree, scrubbing every surface within an inch of its life and flat out banning us all from the kitchen until everything was dry. 

The next day, she went on a decorating binge. There is now an Easter Tree in the dining room.

Along with a Shrine-like set up on the front porch which lights up in pastel technicolor at night

Fortunately, it seems that doing all of this has put her in a significantly better mood.

Now I sit here, checking the front porch every 5 minutes, waiting for the delivery that may never come. My package, my game, my precious Persona 5 Royale. Wherefore art not thou?

Am I doomed to forever sit here? Waiting, waiting, waiting?

My only consolation is that my sweet companion is here waiting with me.

writing energy took a few slopes after how much I've written recently, but brain still buzzing with ideas, so here's some no-context spoilers for the next parts of the Old Apple Arc (aka, The Rotting Town):

• Oppy gets bitch-slapped in the face

• Cold finds out he has no sense of direction or spacial awareness whatsoever

• Skeptic accidentally becomes a town hero

• Prisoner gets trapped in a glue trap (figuratively)

You know, Smitten and Damsel were some of the least interesting characters to me– because, well, by their very own nature they’re very simple and surface-level characters, and while I always appreciated their roles and found their route really fun and fascinating, I wasn’t all that interested in exploring them further, not the same way I wanna explore many other voices and vessels.

In come (Explore) This New Old World, I give both Smitten and Damsel a major role because it feels right with the world I build, and FUCK, they’re so cute and fascinating actually!! They’re simplicity makes them bounce off other voices so well, and they’re so genuinely themselves and genuinely in love — with each other, with their friends, with the world around them — that it’s honestly uplifting and heart-warming.

Listen, I’m not a very positive person by nature, and I can be very cynical of the world around me; I had to drag my brain kicking and thrashing into more positive and hopeful forms of thinking– so I was a bit unsure of my ability to write characters as simple and positive as these two. But honestly? It was not only easier than I thought, it was kinda healing.
