scapegoat
you should draw something related to grace and stratt being weird and really always attached at the hip
their relationship is special to me
she needed. a chair
Algún día sabré qué hacer con el cabello de Ryland
i just love how the movie showed us how obvious grace and stratt were with whatever they had going on and how the people around them realized before they both did
like, the face of this general after he asks "am i expendible, that's why you want me?" and she goes for "that's not the only reason". call me crazy, but i can see his smirk and thinking "guurrllll"
the way lokken just turns around to double check what she just saw, and what she just saw was grace smilling all sweet and stratt patting his seat
the way movie!dimitri is looking at them like, please for the love of everyone on this aircraft carrier, GET A ROOM
i dont have to mention anything about this one, just dropping the meme again
everyone is a bit unconfortable as they fuck each other with their eyes
ilyukhina: MOM AND DAD ARE FLIRTING
no doubts why everyone thought they were doing it
Idea: 20yr reader working with Stratt who drinks so much more caffeine than she does and barely even sleeps to make up for it. Stratt comes in early to find the lights still on and steps in and reader is running off of like a fourth monster energy and is blasting some silly music as they work.
Hehe I made that dumb post about twenty year old reader using slang around all these very important scientists and engineers and now I’ve gotten Stratt put into the mix. Love it.
This one’s a little shorter than my other oneshots, hope that’s okay!
Project Hail Mary x reader (platonic!)
Reader is twenty, Stratt and Grace are late thirties.

Coffee Addict

Coffee wasn’t just a nice drink to have in the morning, but a drug that everyone in the building abused more than five times a day. There were more coffee ground bags than water cups, more coffee mugs than staplers, more creamer bottles than snacks.
You were one of the frequent visitors of the coffee station, even keeping your own mug in the cabinet alongside Dr. Ryland Grace’s and Eva Stratt’s. The two had been very adamant about decreasing your intake, but that never stopped you from grabbing something on your way to work. (To their chagrin)
You’d been the last one in the building besides the security guards, lights still on in the office you’d taken up as your own for your storage plans regarding the Hail Mary. The reason you were there wasn’t complicated equations or scientific solutions, but a lot of measuring and managing storage capacity. The Hail Mary was a gigantic ship that would be home to three people until they passed, so you had to make sure there was enough storage for every inch of the craft. You’d get lost in your work; sketching, measuring, making small dioramas to physically show Stratt what the plans were and how’d they function, and lots of blueprints.
Other people handled the materials, you did all the cool organizational stuff.
Anywho, you were aware that it was late, pitch black outside and the building quiet, but you remedied that by placing your speaker on the counter by the door and blasting an early 2010’s best hits list you found online. You moved around the room, singing along as you gathered materials, bags heavy under your eyes, heart buzzing with unnatural caffeine flowing through your veins.
Stratt came into work a little earlier than normal, wanting to follow up on a few reports and prepare for an important meeting later that morning. She quirked a brow as she saw a light down a hall she swore no one would be in at this hour, the faint sounds of muffled music traveling just far enough for her to hear. A deep sigh left her nose as she followed it, sipping at her coffee as she walked inside.
You hadn’t noticed the door open or the woman stepping inside until you turned around, screeching in fright and dropping your scissors. You stumbled back into the table your work was piled on top of, grabbing the front of your shirt as your heart really felt like it was about to stop. Stratt stared at you, unamused, reaching over to your speaker and clicking the mute button, “[Name].”
“Hey-Heeeeeey..” you slumped a little, “you scared the shit out of me, oh my god.” She huffed, “you haven’t left since yesterday.”
“Wha- how do you know??”
“You’re wearing the same clothes. I’m not stupid.”
“Never said you were..” you grumbled, but her eyes softened a little, just a fraction you barely noticed, “Go lay down in my office, I’m not letting you drive home. With our luck, you’ll crash your car and we won’t have anyone to replace you.”
“Ugh. I’m fiiiine.” You complained, head lolling to the side a little.
“I’m not asking. Go.” She stepped aside so you could grumpily shuffle out of the room, turning the light off and shutting the door behind the both of you. Her office was nice, comfortable couch on one side, desk, chairs, shelves, the works. You laid down and curled up, the exhaustion finally getting to you even as your heart screamed like a freight train. You felt a cold hand on your head before darkness came for you, out like a light.
—
“Uh- who’s that?” Stratt looked over at you on her couch, still dead asleep, blanket tossed over you by Grace a few hours ago, “Storage consultant and designer for the Hail Mary.”
“And they’re..” the scientist looked very confused, had he never seen a sleep-deprived college student before?
“Asleep. Yes. Can we focus?” The man turned away from you, “ah- yes. Apologies.”

That’s it for now! Hope you enjoyed! Have a nice day and stay safe!

Not a big fan of Strattland
Because Eva Stratt should be with me
