This document summarises the findings of a project, Climate Change and Biodiversity in the Insular Caribbean (CCBIC), implemented by CANARI. The findings of the project have highlighted a range of challenges and opportunities. In particular there is a need to establish more effective regional mechanisms for the digitisation and sharing of existing data, as well as for the coordination of data collection programmes. Existing climate models need to be downscaled and refined through multidisciplinary research, and supported with training and international collaboration. Reliable computer models, which are essential for good policy-making, need to be expanded to examine the impacts of climate change on biodiversity, agriculture and fisheries.
